Men of the Harem (137 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 187
“Why is he staring like that?”
Even to La Til, that gaze seemed extremely strange.
It wasn’t quite hostility, yet it didn’t feel like affection either.
If it struck La Til, who was merely an observer, as odd, then Domis—the one actually receiving that stare—couldn’t help but flinch.
“Mr. Calain…?”
Domis murmured cautiously, and Girgol, who had been approaching her with a smile, finally noticed Calain’s expression and waved his hand right in front of Calain’s eyes.
“What’s gotten into you?”
Before Calain could answer, a woman dressed in a pale violet gown slowly stepped out from the second carriage.
After accepting a hand to alight, she immediately scanned her surroundings, and upon spotting Girgol and Calain, she brightened with a cheerful smile and walked toward them.
“Calain. Girgol. What are you doing?”
The rustling of her full skirt accompanied her steps as she casually greeted Calain and Girgol, then tilted her head curiously upon seemingly just noticing Domis.
“Do you know this maid? Why are you standing around like that?”
When Domis saw the woman, her first thought was, ‘She looks a lot like Mom.’ But she didn’t associate the woman further with her adoptive mother.
Domis’s adoptive parents, whom La Til had only briefly seen, didn’t appear particularly noble or wealthy—certainly not the sort to be treated as “honored guests” by a lord.
Thus, Domis showed no sign of connecting this woman with her adoptive mother.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
