I'll Marry Your Brother (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 16
The dark night sky had gradually brightened.
I lifted my eyelids at the sharp morning sunlight streaming through the car window.
Perhaps the unexpected appearance of Ji Han and the marriage registration form he handed me had taken quite a toll.
Once again, I’d spent the night wide awake.
My phone lying beside the pillow lit up brightly. A text had arrived from Jae Ha.
[I’ll be there on time. Do your best today. —Jae Ha]He’d promised to come to W Group’s headquarters in time for the shareholders’ meeting.
After finishing my shower, I sat down in front of the vanity.
No sooner had I begun applying makeup than another message popped up on my phone screen.
[An urgent matter came up—I won’t be able to pick you up. I’ll see you at the meeting. —Ji Han]“I already figured you wouldn’t come anyway.”
I murmured softly as I read the message.
Last night, Ji Han had headed straight for Seo Rin, so I hadn’t believed him when he said he’d come pick me up.
After all, I still vividly remembered clearing away his empty seat during the last life’s shareholders’ meeting, waiting in vain for his return.
‘Right… You didn’t even show up on the day of our divorce.’
This part hadn’t changed at all from the past.
As memories from my previous life suddenly overlapped, a bitter smile crept onto my lips.
It hadn’t been a marriage born out of love so deep it felt worth dying for.
Though our relationship hadn’t started with love, in my past life I’d believed that, like other couples, we could eventually have children and live together through affection built over time.
‘How foolish and naive that thought was…’
“Today will be the end.”
This tiresome relationship would end simultaneously with the shareholders’ meeting.
I set down the lipstick I’d been reapplying to my lips.
Turning around before leaving, I saw the house looked unusually empty.
Though filled with large furniture, the emptiness of the place weighed heavily upon me.
This space had been my only sanctuary after losing my family and becoming utterly alone.
The newlywed home had been a wedding gift from Grandfather.
“I’ll be back.”
The front door closed behind me.
Unlike the bright outside world, the darkened interior of the house drifted further away through the narrowing gap of the closing door—just like my relationship with him, soon to become strangers.

Arriving at W Group’s headquarters, I walked past the sign reading “W Group Emergency Shareholders’ Meeting” and down the long corridor.
Though this was only my second time walking this path, the emotions it stirred made my mind chaotic.
The time drew ever closer to the scheduled hour.
Ahead, a familiar man’s back stood before the firmly closed conference room door.
“Uncle.”
Mr. Hyun Ik turned at my call.
“Yeo Jin, will you be all right?”
In my past life, right before the shareholders’ meeting, he’d asked me exactly the same question: “Will you be all right?”
His worried gaze had been my only comfort in this cold, desolate place.
He’d been the one person who’d always stood by my side—someone I deeply appreciated.
As I grasped his wrinkled hand, looking into his trembling eyes, I felt warmth.
“Thank you, Uncle. I’m fine.”
Hearing me insist I was fine, he hesitated, lips twitching as if weighing his words.
“But… can you really trust that man?”
He then quietly asked about Jae Ha.
Having already heard my plan, his expression was full of concern.
After all, Jae Ha was the eldest son of the Ho Jin Group, born with the legitimacy of the Ho Jin name.
I fully understood Uncle’s deep unease toward him.
“Yes. Today’s meeting will go well.”

He gave a slight nod upon hearing my confident reply, and I offered him a faint smile.
“And don’t trust him—trust me.”
Then I turned toward the entrance and took a step forward.
My hand resting on the doorknob trembled at the sound of shareholders’ voices drifting through the conference room door.
The day of the shareholders’ meeting I’d longed for since my return.
A moment I’d only ever dreamed of.
“Let’s go in.”
Here, I would start anew.
I would never forgive Ji Han, who had betrayed me and driven me to my death, nor Seo Rin.
Taking a deep breath, I pushed the tightly closed door wide open.
.
.
.
As I opened the door, the room filled with shareholders came into view.
Though this was only my second time facing them, the tension rising within me was unavoidable.
“I’m meeting you all for the first time. I’m Yoon Yeo Jin.”
The previously noisy room instantly fell silent at my entrance, as if doused with water.
On the desk prepared at the center, I saw my nameplate labeled “Yoon Yeo Jin,” and beside it sat a familiar figure.
He gave me a small, welcoming wave, seated beside me as if it were the most natural place for him.
Ji Han—the man who would become a stranger to me after today.
“I imagine you all have many questions and doubts about me.”
I clearly remembered the things people had said about me.
Their persistent stares chasing after my seemingly naive appearance.
There had been countless reasons they claimed I couldn’t be a successor: I was just a broadcaster with no business acumen, a woman, and so on.
In my past life, I’d had no choice but to submit—but now was different.
“You’re all probably wondering what exactly I possess.”
I swept my gaze deliberately over each shareholder, still only trying to assess the situation.
Whenever my eyes met theirs, they either looked away or cleared their throats awkwardly.
I’d come here determined not to bow before those consumed by greed.
Among the shareholders, one man stood out—silently watching me.
“Vice Chairman Kim Young Min.”
In my previous life, he’d been the mastermind behind Ji Han’s assumption of management control and the subsequent merger between Ho Jin Group and W Group.
I still vividly recalled how the Vice Chairman had dismissed my proposals with a snort.
“That’s enough… You say that only because you don’t understand, Miss.”
His sharp glare had made me shrink back then, as if ordering me to stop.
“What better opportunity could there be than merging W and Ho Jin?”
The Vice Chairman, who’d openly voiced his opinion with confidence, now sat quietly, studying me.
“Yes. Exactly as you suspect—I am currently W Group’s largest shareholder.”
Gasps broke out here and there across the room.
Even the Vice Chairman, who had kept his expression carefully neutral, now frowned at my bold declaration.
He surely disliked seeing a young woman, not even thirty, holding her head so high.
Yet, it was precisely this young woman who now held W Group in her hands.
Even Ji Han, the man everyone admired, had known this fact—which was why he hadn’t let go of me for the past five years.
“Even though I became the largest shareholder with no preparation whatsoever…”
“…”
“…you’ll all have to listen carefully to what I say—because my words now carry real weight.”
Having said that, I turned my gaze toward Ji Han seated not far away.
Looking into his eyes, brimming with desire, made me nearly sick to my stomach.
‘You want it, don’t you? …No. You probably already assumed W Group was yours by now, didn’t you?’
Startled by my uncharacteristic behavior—so different from the woman he thought he knew—he briefly met my gaze in surprise.

But only for a moment—then Ji Han gave a soft, mocking laugh.
He seemed to be recalling his plan: that he’d take over W Group on my behalf and proceed with the merger with Ho Jin Group.
Exchanging glances with Vice Chairman Kim, Ji Han’s eyes radiated calm confidence, as if victory were already assured.
‘Will you still feel so at ease after I finish announcing my position?’
“So I dare to declare this.”
I cast my gaze over the shareholders, who sat tensely awaiting my next words.
Then, slowly, I curved the corners of my lips upward.
“From now on, W Group will be managed by professional executives, and I will not interfere in any operational matters whatsoever.”
Everyone in the room blinked rapidly, trying to process what they’d just heard.
Soon, murmurs began spreading through the hall.
“My goodness.”
“Well, what can you expect? She’s just an anchor who only knows broadcasting.”
“Is the professional executive… him?”
As the vice president seated across the room spoke, all eyes turned toward Ji Han.
They seemed to assume Ji Han—my fiancé—would be the professional executive.
After all, it already seemed odd to them that a CEO from another group was present in the meeting room.
Ever since Grandfather’s passing, rumors of a merger between the two groups had been circulating quietly behind the scenes.
Ji Han, seated proudly upright, looked at me with evident satisfaction—as if he were the true protagonist of this scene, his expression so smug it made me sick.
“Let me introduce our professional executive.”
“Hello, I’m…”
Ji Han stood with a friendly smile—but froze mid-motion.
Jae Ha had burst through the conference room doors, instantly capturing everyone’s attention.
He strode confidently to the center of the room and stood right beside me.
“This is Mr. Seo Jae Ha of the Ho Jin Group—someone you all know well.”
I clearly enunciated Jae Ha’s full name for the shareholders staring back and forth between us in shock.
They’d expected me to introduce my fiancé Ji Han—but instead, I’d introduced Jae Ha, leaving them frozen in place.
“Good day. I’m Seo Jae Ha.”
Jae Ha smiled toward Ji Han, who stood there flustered.
I could see Ji Han’s eyelids trembling as he slowly blinked, staring at us both.
Clenching his fists and gritting his teeth, Ji Han glared at Jae Ha as if wanting to devour him whole.
The shareholders in the room also looked utterly stunned by this unexpected turn of events.
‘Well… I never actually said you’d be the one taking over W Group.’
You just conveniently assumed the protagonist was you, didn’t you?
“And since everyone’s conveniently gathered here, I’ll make one more announcement.”
The shareholders were startled yet again.
Their expressions shifted—astonished that even after such a bombshell, I still had more to say.
“I am breaking off my engagement with Mr. Seo Ji Han.”
Silence fell over the conference room—until Ji Han abruptly stood up from his seat.
—CRASH!
The sound of his chair toppling backward echoed loudly.
Unable to shout in front of everyone, he crushed the stack of documents in his hands.
His face was a mask of tension and fury.
Stiffening his spine, he shook his head sharply at me, teeth clenched as if to stop me.
Seeing him tremble with rage and betrayal—something I’d never witnessed before—sent a thrill of exhilaration through my entire body.
‘You look ridiculous, Mr. Ji Han.’
I should’ve cast you aside long ago.
“What? What’s going on?”
“Breaking off the engagement?”
Murmurs erupted throughout the room as attendees tried to make sense of my words.
I smiled sweetly toward Ji Han, who stared at me with icy fury.

“This is only the beginning. I’ll be the one who brings you down.”
“From now on, our W Group will not interfere in any business ventures of the Ho Jin Group. Therefore…”
As if anticipating my next words,
the faces of those from Ho Jin Group seated beside Ji Han turned deathly pale.
“…there will be no investment—and absolutely no merger between the two groups.”
