Before I knew it, it was time to leave work for the day.

Following the director’s instructions to participate in the broadcast from tomorrow, I left the broadcasting station.

The bright summer evening landscape felt unfamiliar compared to when I left after finishing the evening news.

Then, I recalled the news of Seo Rin’s wedding that I heard from the employees in the morning.

Her private SNS had documented the process of her wedding preparations.

If it was just about the preparation, it wouldn’t be an issue, but it was too showy.

‘She’s clearly flaunting it on purpose.’

I contemplated visiting Jae Ha’s office to see if he was aware of this.

Of course, his office wasn’t a place I could freely walk into like my own home.

I stood still, debating outside the broadcasting station.

‘Should I go or not?’

The clock indicated it was well past six.

Given the time, there wouldn’t be many employees left.

Then, a brief vibration signaled the arrival of a message on my phone.

[Where are you? – Jae Ha]

He seemed to have had the same thoughts.

That brief message ended my indecision, and I headed to where he was.

I eventually arrived at Jae Ha’s workplace.

Hesitating outside Jae Ha’s office, I asked the secretary seated in front.

“Is CEO Seo Jae Ha inside?”

“Yes, he is. Do you have an appointment with him?”

I hadn’t scheduled an appointment…

The secretary, assuming I was just another employee, recognized me as she stood up and looked shocked.

“I didn’t get any notice of your arrival. I’ll inform the CEO right away.”

“No, it’s okay. Can I just go in? I came without notifying him.”

She looked like she was about to immediately inform Jae Ha, but I nodded to stop her.

“Yes? Alright.”

The secretary knocked on the door to Jae Ha’s office for me.

Familiar voices from inside told her to come in, and she opened the door.

Across the spacious room, sitting at a desk by the window and looking into a monitor, was Jae Ha.

‘He’s wearing glasses again.’

Jae Ha’s elongated nose was adorned with glasses.

The glasses added to his already stubborn eyes, making him look more intense.

It felt unfamiliar to see him working in his office.

The playful and mischievous Jae Ha I knew had a completely different vibe now.

He was so engrossed in his work that he didn’t even notice me.

Just as I contemplated sitting on the sofa, his voice echoed.

“If you’ve come in, state your business. Or wait, can you contact Secretary Han first?”

“……”

“I heard you had no news broadcast today, but you didn’t reply to my message. I was thinking of asking Secretary Han to check the broadcasting station…”

He seemed to assume I was his secretary, speaking his requirements to me.

How did he know there was no news broadcast today?

Amazed at his quick and accurate source of information, I stared at Jae Ha with folded arms.

‘So, he’s always looked after me through Secretary Han?’

No wonder, even the secretary, whom I met for the first time today, seemed to know me well.

Receiving no response from me, Jae Ha put the document he was reading down and looked up.

“I guess Secretary Han doesn’t need to go.”

As our gazes locked, he put the document he was holding back on the table.

Seemingly surprised by my unexpected appearance, he was at a loss for words.

“When… did you get here?”

“Just now. I saw your message, but I didn’t reply since I decided to come here.”
“Why didn’t you say something? I’ve been worrying.”

Jae Ha leaned back in his chair with a wistful smile.

I shifted my gaze from him and looked around.

“It wouldn’t be a surprise then, would it?”

“A surprise?”

“It’s my first time visiting your office, Jae Ha. So, this is where you work?”

The office was neat and organized, just like Jae Ha’s personality.

The bookshelves, tables, and even the rug on the floor were perfectly arranged.

I approached the desk where Jae Ha sat, looking around the office.

‘CEO of W Group, Seo Jae Ha’, read the nameplate on the desk.

Though it was the position I gave him, it seemed so naturally his.

He seemed to fit W Group better than anyone else I could think of.

“Sir, as you can see, I came without an appointment. Do you have time for me?”

I asked, sitting on the edge of his desk, facing him.

Jae Ha, with arms crossed, stared at me.

“Would you leave if I said no?”

“Of course not. How could I just turn back after coming all this way?”

Jae Ha laughed at my response as if he couldn’t argue with it.

He then pulled a chair close to where I sat.

“Why are you here? You never came before because of the attention from others.”

“……”

“What made you change your mind?”

Jae Ha’s gaze, from behind his glasses, grew sharp, trying to read my intentions.

“People’s attention doesn’t bother me anymore.”

Since Jae Ha’s inauguration news spread like wildfire, everyone knew about our relationship now.

In a way, it was a good thing. Our marriage secret would have been exposed sooner or later.

His knee brushed against my dangling foot.

Before I knew it, he had moved closer, resting his chin on the desk, looking up at me.

An Indifferent Woman is the One Men Desire the Most

One-line summary: The female lead is actually cold-hearted and extremely rational. She has stage-by-stage relationships and won’t two-time, but there will always be someone who secretly likes her.

This novel has the following triggers, so if you’re sensitive to these, please don’t read:

1. The female lead has had many relationships, but she treated each one seriously and broke up properly.

It’s just that the men unilaterally pestered her incessantly. For the female lead, when she doesn’t like someone anymore, she simply doesn’t like them.

(This applies to her relationships with Male Lead 1, 2, 3, and 4 as well, but she’s loyal in each 1-on-1 relationship!)

2. In this novel, Male Lead 2 and the female lead kiss in a car, and Male Lead 1 sees it and beats up Male Lead 2.

The female lead calls the police and sends both Male Lead 1 and 2 to the police station! Male Lead 1 begs the female lead not to break up with him.

3. Male Lead 1 has a gentle appearance but an obsessive personality.

Male Lead 2 has a delicate and soft appearance, slightly green tea-like (two-faced).

Male Lead 3 is a youthful college student and a smart person who has secretly liked the female lead for a long time.

Male Lead 4 is the female lead’s father’s special assistant, a business elite with deep, hidden thoughts.

4. At the beginning of this novel, the female lead has already broken up with Male Lead 1 (Chapter 4) and gotten back together with Male Lead 2 (ex-boyfriend).

5. Enter with caution if you have triggers!!!
