[This is an interview I took as soon as I returned from the United States. It’s an unpublished interview. You probably see me officially for the first time on this stage. I’m extremely reluctant to expose myself to the media. Hence, this interview is still unpublished.]

Jae Ha played a part of the interview he had taken upon arrival in the country.

In the video, he was expressing his feelings about his return after several years.

[By showing this video, are you outright denying the rumors surrounding CEO Seo?]

Jae Ha nodded towards the reporter who asked me directly.

[Yes. It shows that the article stating that I had an inappropriate relationship with her before my younger brother’s engagement is impossible. As you can see from the video, I didn’t even have time to set foot in Korea.]

As Jae Ha smiled, pulling the corner of his lips up, Seo Rin’s face turned beet red and she clenched her lips tightly.

Seo Rin, who hadn’t even imagined that he would reveal it like this, suddenly turned to the director.

“What, what does this mean? It’s something that can be easily fabricated. He can still know and meet her even if he’s not in Korea!”

It was the moment when Seo Rin was trying to deny Jae Ha’s words, saying they were absurd.

The video in the laptop screen transitioned from Jae Ha’s interview and another video began to play.

[It was strange from the start. Because he ordered three rings. Our special wedding line is a custommade product that creates only one pair in the world, but he added another woman’s ring with different dimensions. Moreover, the brand accepted that order without any comment. It was the first time I had encountered such a situation during my service.]

Seo Rin, surprised by the woman’s voice that she heard, turned her gaze to the screen.

Seo Rin’s face gradually filled with horror as she watched the video.

The interview with the employee who had taken the wedding ring order continued on the screen.

Although her face was pixelated, Seo Rin seemed to recognize who the employee was at a glance.

[Even though it’s been several months since I quit, I still can’t forget. It was even more impressive because a wellknown weather caster personally came to adjust it. It happened around this time last year.]

As the employee’s interview ended, Jae Ha, who had returned to the podium, pulled the microphone towards his mouth.

A chilly smirk hung on his lips.

[I’m not fond of revealing this publicly, but I can’t tolerate unjust public opinion manipulation.] [Public opinion manipulation? Are you saying that it’s the work of CEO Ji Han Seo?]

The reporters buzzed at Jae Ha’s blunt mention of the words.

However, Jae Ha did not provide precise answers to the incessant questions from the reporters.

[I wish my precious person wouldn’t be a subject of gossip and be on everyone’s lips. Regardless of the reason, if suspicions about my person flare up again, I plan to respond sternly.]

His straight gaze seemed to reach me beyond the camera.

With those words, the video of Jae Ha’s inauguration ceremony ended.

My mind, which had been blankly stuck on Jae Ha’s remarks for a while, came back to reality.

It was such a natural look that people who didn’t know us might mistake us for lovers.

‘What? It’s confusing.’

As I turned my head, I saw Seo Rin’s face, which was pale as a sheet of paper.

A bitter sense of defeat spread across her pretty face.

Seeing Seo Rin made the surprise I had felt from Jae Ha subside.

“How could that person…”

“Were you surprised? You’ve worked hard on your side. Saying you found that resigned employee?”

I heard from Jae Ha that Seo Rin had investigated and contacted that employee.

Initially, they must have thought that they only needed to keep that one employee quiet since the order took place in a private room.

However, they probably didn’t know that Jae Ha and I had found that employee first.

“There are no eternal secrets in the world. So why spread groundless rumors.”

I approached Seo Rin, who was trembling and went to laugh.

Even under the gaze of the disciplinary committee members, Seo Rin spoke with eyes full of venom.

In a small voice that only I could hear.

“Do you think you’ve won? Don’t make me laugh. I don’t think I’ve lost.”

Seo Rin’s eyelids were trembling.

Then, she continued to speak to me with a lump in her throat.

“At first, everyone will curse me as the worst woman under heaven. But that’s only for a moment, right? As time goes by, only envy for me will remain.”

I quietly watched Seo Rin spinning nearly sophistical words.

“Our public image might take a small hit, but nothing will change significantly. Our relationship remains the same. And there is no change in the fact that we will get married.”

“……”

“No, I should be grateful to you for advancing our wedding.”

I remembered what happened in the restaurant before.

So… Had all the nonsense rumors that were bound to be revealed someday been spun because of that?

For her marriage to Ji Han. To become a part of his family.

‘As you think, being by his side may not be paradise.’

Rather, it would have been hell if it were hell.

In a very short time, the five years I spent with him flashed by.

It was a marriage life that was lonely and unhappy until the day I died.

Awakening from the reminiscence, I burst into bitter laughter at the thought that it was just like her.

As my low laughter spread in the silent conference room, people’s gazes poured onto me.

“Ah, I’m sorry. I laughed without realizing it.”

I chuckled nastily at Seo Rin, who was looking at me with more rigid eyes than before, then shrugged my shoulders.

“The household isn’t as easy as you think. You should be feeling it gradually. The mountain you have to climb is too high.”

Seo Rin had a cunning side that knew how to use her wits quite well.

Yet the fact that she spun a rumor that could be easily exposed meant she was driven into a corner.

‘It must be because of Ji Han, of course.’

There was a change in Ji Han’s feelings, and Seo Rin, who felt it, took a desperate measure.

Seo Rin furrowed her brows deeply, as if she understood what I was saying.

“What, what does that mean? I don’t understand……”

“Seo Rin, you don’t understand what it means? You should know.”

As I made a strange expression and trailed off, Seo Rin’s face hardened instantly.

And it was the moment when the director stood up to summarize the situation.

The mobile phone in my hand began to ring with a vibrating bell.

Looking at the name that appeared on the phone screen, I let out a chuckle. Because I saw a familiar title that I hadn’t seen in years.

‘I didn’t expect this person to contact me first.’

And above all, the fact that someone who should be in America was calling me at this hour meant that he had returned to Korea.

As I lifted my head, I caught Seo Rin’s gaze with a puzzled look on her face.

‘She seems curious.’

I showed her my phone that was still vibrating.

Seo Rin’s aimless eyes landed on the screen of my mobile phone.

And her eyes slowly widened as she recognized the caller.

“Seo Rin, you know too, right? Who this person is.”

“……”

“Even though he’s not her fiancé anymore, he contacted me as soon as he returned home.”

Seo Rin couldn’t take her eyes off the word ‘Lady Oh’ written on the screen.

The phone that had been ringing for a while eventually stopped.

“Impossible.”

Seo Rin muttered and reached out to me as if she couldn’t believe it.

I checked the message that came in immediately after the call ended.

“It’s the person you’re thinking of. It’s Mr. Ji Han’s mother.”

“……Ha.”

“But it seems like the message was sent to the wrong person. She wouldn’t not know that the daughterinlaw has changed.”

I handed the phone back to Seo Rin.

[Yeo Jin, it’s me. If you’re free, let’s spend the evening together. Lady Oh]

And Seo Rin’s face twisted for a moment as she read down Lady Oh’s message.
