“Just like I did.”

“Huh?”

Do Jun didn’t continue speaking and simply left his mouth hanging open in an ‘ah’ shape.

“I’m curious too—about the taste of that chocolate.”

She could’ve easily rejected him by pointing out they were in the company’s emergency stairwell, but she quickly decided it would be better to just place the chocolate in his mouth than waste time arguing pointlessly.

Tae Yeon moved swiftly, positioning the chocolate so it slipped neatly into Do Jun’s mouth.

Wanting to get the task over with as soon as possible, she fed him the chocolate in an instant, then stepped back a pace.

A flicker of disappointment briefly passed through Do Jun’s eyes.

He rolled the chocolate around with his tongue and lazily scanned Tae Yeon with half-lidded eyes.

“It’s delicious.”

“Right? It’s the kind of taste that lifts your mood.”

Tae Yeon smiled softly, her eyes gently crinkling. Do Jun stared at her face intently, as if trying to bore a hole through it.

He couldn’t look away. He’d rarely seen such a radiant smile.

Even when he’d bought her an expensive watch at the department store, she hadn’t smiled that genuinely—but now, over just one piece of chocolate?

The more he learned about Tae Yeon, the more unfathomable she became.
