She remembered clearly; someone had mentioned that she seemed to be followed.
“Sister, didn’t you say something about that?”
“What?”
“You said you’ve been feeling strange lately.”
If I had to imitate Taejin, it wouldn’t have been a big deal.
But Taejin’s words just now felt like a stab in Taeyeon’s ear.
“What did I say? Why are you trying to twist the words? Why are you so upset about not being able to imitate me?”
“Who’s been following you around lately, Unnie?”
Taeyeon stared at Taejin as if genuinely concerned.
“No?”
“You said so earlier, Unnie.”

“When did I?”
Taejin firmly denied that there was such a thing.
“Jin Tae Yeon, stop turning the words around.”
Taejin’s gaze was consistently on Taeyeon’s shoes.
Suddenly, Taeyeon grabbed the table with one hand and started taking off her shoes, matching Taejin’s pair.
Then she placed the shoes on the table.
Taejin’s gaze involuntarily followed.
Soon, her mouth opened wide in surprise.
“Hey, what are you doing?”
“Purposely bought the same thing since Unnie didn’t like it.”

“Jin Tae Yeon! This makes it look like I’m taking off your shoes!”
“It seems that way.”
A pleasing baritone voice poured out from behind Taeyeon.
And before long, Taeyeon, lifted as light as a feather, floated into the air.
“Huh?”
Taeyeon checked the man’s face who had lifted her like a feather and exhaled briefly with a sense of relief.
“Dojun?”
“Do you know how surprised I was?”
I couldn’t ask where he had been watching and listening from, but here I couldn’t ask.
Dojun hugged Taeyeon with both arms, sending a chilly, firm gaze toward Taejin.

“Miss Jin Tae Jin, were those shoes made for you?”
“No, it’s not like that…”
“Strictly speaking, that brand was launched by our KK Group.”
“So what?”
“It means that all new products are placed in front of the KK owner first.”
“No…”
Taejin was so bewildered that she was on the verge of going crazy.
“In fact, I like to distinguish relationships, so I decided to give you a heads up.”
Dojun laid out the facts one by one.
“Our Taeyeon chose first, and then Miss Jin Tae Jin looked around. You know what that means.”

“…”
The story was that it was Taejin, not Taeyeon, who bought these shoes.
“The person who should take off the shoes isn’t my wife, right?”
The chilling gaze in front of him was just a bonus, as if he could freeze the person in front of him right away.
“Ha! It’s not even a brand made for Taeyeon!”
Embarrassed, Taejin raised her voice.
“So.”
“…”
“If no one else wears what I buy.”
“I think I’ll have to make a brand for my wife that no one else can wear or use.”

It wasn’t a joke at all; his face looked like he could immediately recruit a world-famous designer and launch the brand tomorrow.
Taejin felt like her throat was dry and downed the cocktail in front of her in one gulp.
As the loud noise echoed, many eyes turned to the three people.
Taeyeon, nestled in Dojun’s arms, poked his chest.
When Dojun’s gaze, as cold as if no drop of blood would come out, touched Taeyeon’s face, it surprisingly softened lovingly.
“Is it uncomfortable?”
“Oh, yes.”
“I see.”
I thought Dojun would put Taeyeon down, but instead, he adjusted the position of his arms and lifted Taeyeon even higher.
“Dojun?”
“I’m thinking of leaving now.”

“Yes, okay. Then if you could put me down…”
Dojun, however, had no intention of doing so and just turned away.
People parted and made way for Dojun as he walked confidently, using his long legs.
It was as if they were parting a current.
Taejin calmly glared at the backs of Dojun and Taeyeon as they gracefully exited the party venue.
“Ah, so annoying!”
The owner of KK Group seemed to think she held some kind of position and was even more upset.
Well, in reality, she did hold a significant position.
Being the top-ranked conglomerate leading various affiliates in Korea and even worldwide.
“Nothing ever goes my way!”

In frustration, Taejin angrily pushed Taeyeon’s expensive shoe, which was placed on the table, with her hand.
The pricey shoe rolled away with a loud sound.
“Ugh.”
After venting, Taejin felt strangely uneasy and reluctantly picked up the fallen shoe.
With two out of the three people causing a commotion at the bazaar now gone, all attention was focused on the remaining individual.
From behind, faint murmurs reached Taejin’s ears.
“Aren’t those two sisters?”
“Yeah, they must be. They look alike.”
“But the younger one is much prettier.”
“Hey, listen.”

“I’m listening. The younger one seems to have a much better personality too.”
Taejin clenched her fist tightly.
She held it so firmly that her well-manicured nails almost dug into her skin.
A passing staff member handed Taejin a paper bag.
Irritated, Taejin snatched it.
Then, she prioritized picking up the expensive shoes that Taeyeon had discarded.
“I’ll return them if we ever meet.”
Certainly not by going to the department store and reselling them.
Feigning composure, Taejin quickly left the bazaar venue.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
