“Madam Leah’s belongings?”

Edith couldn’t help but instinctively echo the question, her ears perking up.

Leah was one of the people Edith missed almost as much as Isaac. Naturally, she wanted to see anything connected to her.

In response to Liriette’s inquiry, the butler shifted his gaze slightly upward before replying.

“Yes. His Grace the Duke moved all the items Miss Leah used during her lifetime into the attic of this estate.”

Following her words, Edith and Walter both turned their unseen gazes toward the attic.

They were the two people outside House Lexion most keenly interested in any trace of Leah. Knowing this well, Liriette spoke with a faint smile.

“When you’ve settled into the territory somewhat, it might be nice to take a look around the attic where her belongings are kept. Though you won’t be able to open the box sealed by my sister’s magic.”

“If the opportunity arises, I’d certainly like to do just that. Thank you, Lady Liriette.”

Edith mirrored her gentle smile. Just imagining the place where Leah’s possessions were stored instantly eased her unfamiliarity with the estate.

She’d come to the territory half against her will, merely to shield the child from any magical backlash—but hearing about Leah quietly soothed the anxiety that had been silently gnawing at her mind.

Walter, too, lent an ear at the news that his mother Leah’s belongings were here.

It wasn’t solely to revisit tender memories with her, as Edith might have.

‘She might have left behind something about my magic—or my memories.’

Walter had already inherited the bank account balance and vast lands Leah had set aside for him, but what truly pleased him was the possibility that these items might help him recover his childhood memories shared with Edith.
