Incheon International Airport. AM 3:11
A woman with neat hair pulled up and wearing angular glasses, Catherine checked her surroundings.
This was a special security entrance for those with private planes or those entering secretly. Journalists, let alone ordinary passengers, were not allowed to set foot here.
Seeing that no one was around, Catherine glanced at her wristwatch.
‘It must be time for his arrival soon.’
As soon as she thought that, the entrance door opened as if it had been waiting. The sound of the automatic door opening echoed unusually loud in the cold, desolate lobby.
“He’s here.”
With a heavy step, a pair of neat black shoes approached.
He rotated his stiff shoulders from the long flight and responded.
“The world has gotten much better. It only takes 10 hours from New York to Incheon.”
“I’m glad it was comfortable.”
Catherine raised her head with a thin smile.
Her hair, almost beige for its light pigment, was cleanly cut, giving a urbane and sophisticated impression. Only her eyes, looking either silver or ashgray, seemed a bit weary.
“It was fine. A bit hot, though.”
As he took off his dark suit jacket, a white shirt clinging to his solid body was revealed. By his side, Catherine skillfully took the jacket he had removed.
He loosened his black necktie and surveyed the surroundings.
“Incheon Airport has changed a lot too.”
“That’s… because a long time has passed.”
“Yes.”
He turned his head with a bland agreement. His eyes met his reflection in the glass window and seemed to be drawn to it. Perhaps what had changed was not just the scenery.
They passed through the empty lobby.
The sound of the empty escalator starting to move was heard as they stepped on it.
Beyond the glass window covering the wide wall, the bustling airport was in full view. Until the escalator reached the bottom, his ashgray eyes were fixed in one place.
“……”
Catherine, who had been looking straight ahead, suddenly turned her head. She looked at his profile and smiled faintly.
“How do you find Korea after such a long absence? Is it pleasant?”
“Pleasant?”
He let out a low laugh.
“Hardly.”
Before him, Catherine closed her mouth. She could tell instantly. What was hidden in his sunken ashgray eyes was certainly not pleasure or nostalgia.
Catherine thought. His sudden trip to Korea was surely closely related to the Princess of Black Flame.
Even though she hadn’t heard the story from him, she could only be sure of it. Otherwise, she couldn’t think of any reason why he, who hadn’t set foot in Korea for 30 years, would suddenly decide to go.
“The Wolf? What happened?”
He asked, putting on the leather gloves he had in his pocket.
It has come.
Catherine pushed her glasses up her nose and opened her mouth heavily.
“I’m sorry. I failed.”
“Is that so?”
He clenched and unclenched his fist lightly. The wrinkles on the black leather glove smoothed out.
There was no emotion to be read from his brief reply. He didn’t seem pleased, but there was no sign of disappointment either. It was fortunate that he didn’t blame her.
After receiving his order, Catherine entered Korea first. Then she gathered as much information about ‘the Princess of Black Flame’ as possible.
As a result, Catherine determined that the Princess of Black Flame was not a simple Franked Concept Hunter.
In fact, not a few people were speculating that what they saw of the Princess of Black Flame on the broadcast was merely edited.
But Catherine did not think so.
The fact that the Wolf was protecting her, and that her boss was paying attention to her, was evidence itself that she was not ordinary.
The quickest way to find out more about this would be to ask her boss directly. Her eyes, filled with a hint of doubt behind transparent glasses, glanced at him.
“Why?”
“…No reason.”
Catherine closed her mouth. He wouldn’t give a proper answer anyway.
Afterward, there was no conversation between the two.
During their exit from the airport, some gazes followed them, but thanks to the security agents who had been informed in advance, they were able to reach the car without any trouble.
The sleek black sedan was tinted so heavily that it completely blocked outside view.
“Nice car.”
“I had it prepared in advance.”
“You’re as efficient as ever.”
“Thank you.”
Catherine loaded the luggage into the trunk and got into the driver’s seat.
“Shall we go now?”
Catherine, gripping the steering wheel, looked at the back seat through the rearview mirror.
He was looking out of the window, lost in thought, as if he hadn’t heard her. Catherine skillfully started the car and activated the navigation on her cell phone.
“How shall we proceed? At this time, it won’t take even an hour to get to Gangnam.”
He had been in such a hurry to get to Korea. Even though it was late, he certainly wanted to knock on the Wolf’s door right away.
But he answered with a muttered voice, resting his chin on his hand.
“No, let’s go to the hotel today. No matter what, visiting the guild headquarters at dawn is not courteous.”
Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day
It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!
This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.
The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.
Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.
If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.
It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.
The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.
In the end, everything will come together and be explained.
One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!
In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.
Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.
However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.
Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.
Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?
——
Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.
His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.
Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”
——
The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.
Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!
Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!
The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…
——
But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.
The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.
She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…
Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”
Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”
Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.
Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”
Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.
Zhu Wansheng: ?
Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…
On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.
Warm breath lingers on her neck.
“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
