Although he had awakened and continued training at a young age, Siwoo was still just an ‘Awakened One,’ not even having received a hunter’s license. Nevertheless, his skill already far surpassed the guild’s elite hunters.

It was surprising, but considering that he was the son of the Wolf, it was also expected.

Everyone thought the same as they looked at Siwoo. He would be the next Srank hunter to grace the front page of the newspaper. Whether it would be tomorrow, in a year, or in a more distant future, it was an apparent future.

After finishing his training, Siwoo left the training ground without looking back. A walk to shake off the lingering foul smell from his body was indispensable after training.

His hurried steps in the dark alley stopped under a streetlight.

“Ugh.”

Siwoo quickly covered his mouth against the nausea surging up his esophagus.

[The 12th guardian god, ‘Dog that Guards the Deep Night,’ is anxiously watching you.]

“……I’m fine.”

Siwoo barely suppressed his churning stomach, a technique he had learned after suffering from gastritis several times.

As he was about to continue his walk, that’s when it happened.

“Ah… Ahhhhh!”

Someone’s scream was heard. It was close.

Siwoo turned his head. A boy halfsticking out from the window of a twostory house could be seen. Dressed in pajamas, he was, for some reason, terrified.

Siwoo soon found out why the boy was scared. A black shadow seen beyond the boy. It was a monster.

“Sa, save me!”

The boy cried out, precariously hanging from the window. It was not that late yet. A few pedestrians on the street stood there like Siwoo, looking up at the boy with anxious faces.

“What, what to do! He’ll fall.”

“A hunter! Is there no hunter?! Call quickly!”

“Damn. They said it’s been reported, but…”

Amid the chaotic crowd, a large man appeared. He must have been a hunter. Unlike the other citizens, his relaxed demeanor stood out, but the great sword on his back was the evidence.

The man with the great sword stared at the boy hanging from the window for a moment and then turned to walk somewhere. Then someone nearby blocked his path.

“Ex, excuse me. You, you’re a hunter, aren’t you?”

“……Yes.”

“But why aren’t you rescuing him right now?”
“Why me? This isn’t a mission from the guild, nor is it a gate I’ve applied for.”

“You are a hunter, aren’t you!”

“So I’m walking to the destination for the mission.”

The man spoke with a sullen face. The citizens looked at him coldly, but no one could force him to act kindly. A report had already been filed by a passerby, and a hunter would soon be dispatched from the support guild.

But that hunter was not the one standing before them.

“But if left alone, that child will—.”

“Looks like a lowlevel monster. You could probably beat it with a baseball bat.”

Listening to the conversation, Siwoo clenched his fists.

‘Those who possess power should know how to use it in the right place. That is responsibility, that is weight.’

Then he snorted in ridicule. What had he learned? Was that statement false, or was this scene before his eyes false?

Soon after, Siwoo realized one thing.

There were many trashy hunters in this world.

Beings who trampled others without a second thought to gain profit. Having awakened purely by luck, they acted as if it were their innate ability, making money with it, mocking others, and turning a blind eye to harm.

He was fed up.

What was even more infuriating was the fact that he, a member of the Wolves, was no different.

“You have been sentenced to death.”

“Who? My father?”

“……Yes.”

Was that why? He didn’t particularly feel sad or depressed when Gwihoon, the leader of the Wolves and his father, was sentenced to death.

He had no memories with his father, and he had only considered him a useful tool rather than a son.

Gwihoon’s death would also mean Siwoo’s liberation.

Of course, if Gwihoon died, the other Wolves would accept Siwoo as their leader. But he could have silenced their opinions. There was only one person in the world that Siwoo couldn’t silence, his father Gwihoon.

So Gwihoon wanted to hand over the guild master’s position to Siwoo before he died.

That’s why he had finally proceeded with the longdelayed tutorial, pushed by Gwihoon.

──And then.

In that reluctantly conducted tutorial, Shin Siwoo met the first generation hunter, Cha Eun Ha.

[This is the time separator]

Thump, thump─

The fierce rain beat against the balcony window. Inside the unlit room, a passing thunderbolt briefly illuminated their faces.

The term “concept hunter” was a neologism referring to hunters who, although awakened with supernatural abilities, chose not to fight for various reasons, such as danger or noncombat orientation, and focused on building a concept.

In other words, they were those who sought popularity or sensationalism through methods other than monster subjugation or gate conquest, such as internet broadcasts or participating in entertainment programs.

Eun Ha, who was listening to Siwoo’s story, suddenly expressed her doubt.

“But why are concept hunters looked down on? I don’t know much about it.”

“Because it’s the path chosen by hunters with low ranks or relatively inadequate abilities. There must be a prejudice.”

Although the perception of concept hunters had been gradually improving recently, showing distinct results in terms of income and popularity, the direction of concept hunters’ activities was not much different from what is generally referred to as show business.

The criticism came from the fact that people with abilities far above those of ordinary people were, at best, engaged in show business.

“Now it seems I’m mistaken for a concept hunter. Internet reactions are colored glasses according to that.”

At Eun Ha’s words, Siwoo faintly nodded.
Eun Ha fiddled with the empty can on the table, lost in thought, and then, after a moment, she suddenly turned her head and discovered the black dress hanging on the coat rack.

‘In regards to Hunternim getting caught up in this controversy, I don’t think it’s just a matter of rank.’

“……”

Clang, clang.

Tapping the empty can with her fingernail, Eun Ha thought hard about something. In front of her, Si Woo slowly opened his mouth.

“There has been a casting offer for the Princess of Heukyeom in the Hunter special planned by cable TV. If you appear as a concept Hunter, no one can guarantee how public opinion will be afterwards. Of course, it could get better─.”

It could also take a turn for the worst. If that happens, Eun Ha would have to endure the world’s poisonous arrows alone. Si Woo wanted to avoid such a worstcase scenario if possible.

“We can refuse to appear for now, so how about doing that and watching the situation for the time being?”

That was the best decision Si Woo could make.

“If things continue this way, the misunderstanding about being a concept Hunter will become more solidified. Even if that’s not a big problem, if public opinion continues to boil over and your reputation among Hunters worsens, there will be no good in it.”

“Then the answer is one.”

In a room filled with the sound of rain, Eun Ha’s faint voice echoed.

“We have no choice but to change the prejudice about concept Hunters.”

“Excuse me?”

At Eun Ha’s words, Si Woo tilted his head as if he didn’t understand.

“I have a thought. To do that, appearing on the broadcast you mentioned earlier would be good.”

Eun Ha raised the corner of her mouth slightly.

“You mean… to appear?”

Si Woo’s face stiffened at the unexpected remark.

Appearing on a television program would bring her even more into the spotlight. Did she know that and still say such a thing?

“It would be good to prove it to as many people as possible.”

Brushing her hair aside and standing up, Eun Ha glanced at Si Woo.

“You brought the car?”

“……I did bring it.”

Si Woo stared at Eun Ha with a puzzled look, and towards him, Eun Ha smiled faintly.

“Let’s go out for a bit.”

When male lead is the homewrecker

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!

The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.

Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.

The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.

I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.

There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.

For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.

I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.

Here’s the story synopsis:

One-line summary: She is his lifelong obsession, to the point where he was willing to be a third wheel, scorned by society, just to wedge his way into her relationship with her fiancé.

Cold-hearted and indifferent female lead + Scheming and subservient CEO male lead

Intro 1:

“I know she doesn’t love him.”

With blood trickling from his clenched fist, Rong Xiu gazed at the woman before him, his eyes clouded with anguish. Hidden in the wardrobe, he had witnessed Fan Xia – the woman he desperately loved – in an intimate embrace with her fiancé. Yet his heart still yearned for her, defying all reason.

Fan Xia, the elegant and composed assistant, carried something mysterious in her eyes whenever she looked at her fiancé, Wen Lan Sheng. Strange occurrences began to surface – secret meetings with the young Gu Jin Yi, an unexplained withdrawal of 5,000 yuan… Then suddenly, her fiancé’s sister, Wen Jing, violently attacked her.

In this matriarchal society, Rong Xiu had risen to become the chairman of a powerful healthcare conglomerate, breaking through gender prejudices. But for the first time, he willingly stepped into the shadows as the other man, disregarding his friends’ warnings to become her secret lover.

Because he had discovered the truth – Fan Xia wasn’t the pure angel everyone believed her to be. And perhaps, he was the only one capable of helping her execute her mysterious plan…

Intro 2:

Rong Xiu’s biggest regret in life was missing out on Fan Xia.

He secretly loved Fan Xia for 7 years.

Watched her go public with her boyfriend.

Watched her kiss her boyfriend at their wedding.

Until that man blissfully nestled in Fan Xia’s arms, obtaining everything he could only dream of.

The crazy jealousy stripped away his hidden secret love, layer by layer, burning like wildfire.

Fan Xia, how can I have you!
