Love Me Just Once (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 216
“Come in.”
At that, Idren opened the door as if he had been waiting. Dressed impeccably for the occasion, the man held a pair of women’s shoes in one hand—delicately embroidered white deerskin slippers.
Lifting them slightly, Idren gave them a small shake and asked,
“May I help you put them on?”
“How undignified. Why would you do something like that?”
Though it sounded like a rebuke, Idren chuckled quietly. Closing the door behind him, he approached her with a boyish grin.
Ophelia let the man beside her lift her leg and rest it on his knee without protest. It had become familiar to her by now—whenever her husband came near, he turned childish.
After briefly rubbing the ankle that protruded above the shoe, Idren began untying it. His hands worked briskly, unfastening the knot and pulling the laces.
Once both shoes were removed, Idren gently took hold of the woman’s small heel. Her foot, wrapped in soft silk, felt warm and supple—a delightfully tender sensation.
After stroking it briefly, he lifted it and kissed the top of her foot, causing Ophelia to raise an eyebrow.
“I thought you were going to help me put them on?”
“This is part of the preparation.”
“What a ridiculous excuse. You’ve grown too used to lying.”
Yet there was no real resentment in her complaint. Idren kissed her foot once more before gently massaging her calf. Her warm, pliant skin yielded slightly under his palm. Sighing inwardly at the addictive sensation, Idren murmured, *What has become of me?*
“What are you doing now?”
