Ophelia watched as Sianna’s expression grew paler with every word spoken by her father.

It was fear so evident that even she, who had barely exchanged a few glances with the girl, could clearly recognize—but Gilrod merely laughed and continued choking his daughter with his words.

“So we’ve decided to bring that man into Aglante. He’s the perfect match to compensate for your shortcomings.”

“Ha… but it’s far too early for marriage! I—I haven’t even heard anything about this yet…”

“What difference would it have made if you’d been told beforehand? With me as your father, do you really think you need to concern yourself with marriage?”

As Ophelia listened to the exchange between father and daughter, she recalled that Mahanas had once spoken similarly to her.

Ophelia frowned at the inappropriate mention of the royal family, entirely irrelevant to the situation. It was then that Salode, seated beside her, intervened.

“Lord Nevel, those words are impolite.”

“Impolite? How can you say that when you know exactly what an excellent husband His Majesty will be?”
