Love Me Just Once (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 113
The moment Ophelia looked down from the watchtower of the Reden Royal Palace, she realized that all of this was a dream.
It would have been harder not to recognize it as one. Haslen had been dead for quite some time, and Ophelia herself had a history of driving countless people to their deaths to avenge him.
So Ophelia simply stood still on the watchtower. She neither screamed nor cried. By now, she knew that strangulation was swifter than pleading when it came to getting what she wanted.
The scenery was exactly as she remembered it.
People shouted toward her fiancé, and Mahanas sat in the royal seat prepared at the execution grounds, watching them with evident satisfaction. His expression radiated such malice it chilled onlookers.
When the executioner raised his blade, it glinted in the sunlight. It had been the first clear day after weeks of persistent monsoon rains—the day Haslen was executed—so this was an accurate reflection of reality.
Sunlight also poured onto the watchtower, and under its brilliant summer glare, Ophelia watched it all: her fiancé’s head falling, the executioner picking it up and impaling it on a pike, the gathered crowd beginning to shout something resembling cheers and hurling stones, and finally Mahanas rising from his seat….
“…Ha.”
The first thing she saw upon opening her eyes was the canopy above her bed. After gazing for a moment at the thick fabric suited to the season, Ophelia sat up. She drew her knees toward herself, seated beside the bed. A chill ran down her spine, leaving her in a foul mood.
Turning her head away from the blinding lamp that blurred her vision, she looked toward the adjacent space.
On the nightstand in the direction originally reserved for Idren, an oil lamp burned brightly, left untouched since no one had come to dim its flame. She figured the intense sunlight in her dream must have stemmed from this very lamp.
Ophelia approached the nightstand and fully closed the lamp’s lid. The flame flickered briefly before dying out entirely.
She rested her hand on the lid for a moment, feeling its residual warmth, and retraced the dream she’d just had.
Though slightly startled—it had been a while—the execution ground of Reden was, after all, a sight she witnessed nightly. Ever since Haslen’s death, it had always been this way.
It was only in this life that a sudden intrusion by a certain man had briefly blurred those visions. Now that he was gone, they had simply resumed.

Male lead is a clingy little husband
One-line summary: The male lead is initially an arrogant, noble, love-deprived brat, later a cute, clingy, scheming little jealous one.

Introduction:
One day, Lu Yuner’s soul transmigrates into a female-dominant world. She enters the Imperial Academy and takes up the position of a doctoral instructor, teaching classes and grading schoolwork.
One day, she encounters the young prince Su Qingwan secretly skipping class from the male academy.
As a result, Su Qingwan is punished.
From then on, Su Qingwan sees Lu Yuner as a “thorn in his side”.
But before long, this “thorn” becomes the person he cherishes most, and he goes to great lengths to win Lu Yuner’s affection.
Mini scene 1:
One day, the sun is high in the sky but Su Qingwan still hasn’t gotten up for class.
Servant Xiaoyuan: “Young prince, it’s time for class. You’ll be late otherwise.”
Su Qingwan says arrogantly: “I’m not going. I am the esteemed prince, my status is so noble, why should I suffer this hardship? Besides, isn’t learning all this just to please women? Hmph, they’re not worthy!”
Mini scene 2:
After Su Qingwan falls for someone, he completely changes. He no longer skips class and diligently learns how to be a good husband and father. But he discovers that Sister Yuner is always surrounded by admirers.
Drunk and overcome with jealousy one day, he clings to Lu Yuner, crying beautifully like a pear blossom in the rain.
Su Qingwan: “Qingwan likes Sister Yuner.”
Lu Yuner: “Young prince, you’re drunk.”
Su Qingwan: “Qingwan isn’t drunk. Qingwan likes Sister Yuner, likes you so much, likes you to bits…” Before he can finish, Lu Yuner’s eyes flash with emotion and she leans in closer.
[Reading Guide]
1. The female lead is gentle, gracious, humble and polite but not weak. The male lead is initially an arrogant, noble, love-deprived brat, later a cute, clingy, scheming little jealous one.
2. 1v1, a bit torturous in the beginning but definitely sweet later on.
