Despite avoiding it so desperately, Seo Rin’s worst fear had become reality.

“Seo Rin, shall we… get a divorce?”

At first, it was a question,

“No… let’s do it. Divorce.”

and then it became certainty.

But that was strange. Tae Joon was saying the cruelest words imaginable, yet his actions betrayed something entirely different.

His voice, strained as if being wrung dry, wavered violently—as though it alone bore witness to his anguish. So clearly could she imagine his expression while uttering those words, even without looking at him.

Moreover, the way his hand gently soothed her back was far too tender—almost as if he were trying his utmost to comfort her in her shock.

This irony was obvious enough for even a seven-year-old child to grasp.

And yet… he wanted a divorce?

It made no sense. No, she simply couldn’t believe it.

Is this… a dream? It has to be, right?

It wasn’t a dream.
