“The company where the aggressor, Chulho Choi, worked at the time was Taedong Construction. There is no record of large transactions enough to pay for the child’s surgery in cash, and the hospital also said the money was paid in cash by his wife, making it impossible to trace. But after Chulho Choi received a life sentence and went to prison, several residents saw him sending money to his wife, who was left alone.”
“…….”
“Which construction company would go to such lengths for the families of employees who committed crimes? Well… Even if the CEO is a really good person, it’s hard to believe for Taedong Construction. The company didn’t have a good reputation, and they didn’t even pay proper wages to their employees. Yet, they took care of the family of an employee who went to prison? The stench of a truly rotten favor was unbearable, even to me.”
“So, the CEO of this company made the contract?”
“Ha… No, it doesn’t seem like that. It seems to be the Vice President. Completely unaware, just had his name used. In the year I went through this, he suffered the same fate. He was killed by a stabbing. And Taedong Construction was dismantled. It was a company with a lot of talk and trouble all along, so there was nothing left. Unpaid wages and construction fees couldn’t be properly paid, so it was dismantled.”
“…….”
“This is as far as my investigation goes. After the accident… I didn’t investigate any further. I was afraid. They are very ruthless bastards. Killing a person is nothing to them. Exploiting the desperation of a person and killing them without even getting blood on my hands… They are very cruel bastards.”
“They may have inflated their size somewhere bigger by now.”
“Yes. The bankruptcy of Taedong Construction is just part of their scenario, I believe. So… be careful. If you don’t want to end up like me.”
Namho Park warned, pointing to his leg.
Upon this, Taehun nodded and turned his gaze to Seorin. She still sat there with a vacant expression.

The aftermath of the enormous truth was something even the renowned Baek Seorin couldn’t avoid.
Exhausted and unable to make it to Seoul, Taehun and Seorin booked a nearby hotel for the night.
Even after finishing the conversation with Namho Park, Seorin didn’t say a word until they left the cafe and arrived at the hotel.
Well, she just found out that the past incident she thought was an accident turned out to be intentionally caused by someone.
The shock was indescribable.
It felt like everything was entangled like an unravelable thread.
The truth was so cruel that she wanted to give up, cut it off, and run away.
“Seorin, do you want to take a shower first?”
Only then did her vacant eyes turn towards him.
“Yeah. Thank you.”

After Seorin went into the bathroom, Taehun took out the documents from the envelope Namho Park had given him and looked through them again.
“Taedong Construction…”
He stared at the documents for a long time. However, it seemed challenging to trace the disappeared Taedong Construction with just the documents Namho Park had provided.
Once they go up to Seoul, he should give separate instructions to Sodam to trace the traces of Taedong Construction.
Thus, he must confront the true face of the real culprit hiding behind.
What did you touch?
What truth did you bury?
It would make them realize even if it’s late.
While going through the materials of Taedong Construction, quite a long time seemed to have passed, and Seorin, who had finished showering, came out. In a robe with wet hair, she looked exceptionally tired today.
After dealing with Jominhyung, an unbearable truth as well.
For Seorin, today must have been a nightmare.

“I shouldn’t have suggested coming with you…”
“No, Taehun. More than any truth, it was a truth I needed to know.”
In a soulless voice, Taehun hugged her tightly.
“I’m sorry.”
“Taehun, why. I’m thankful that it’s because of you that I found out the truth. I feel like I’m learning a lot of real truths because of you.”
Seorin spoke calmly, looking into his eyes after leaving his chest.
“I realized how much my dad loved me, and my mom’s death… I found out that the accident that day wasn’t my fault.”
“……”
“Isn’t it ironic? Even though that accident wasn’t a coincidence but intentional, the only thing that comes to mind at that moment is… It wasn’t because of me. I’m not the reason for the accident. Am I… really a bad person?”
“No. It’s just that the guilt you carried was immense. It hurts my heart. I wonder how big of a wound it was for a young heart.”

“……”
“Still, Seorin, thank you for letting me live. Maybe… my dad felt the same way.”
Seorin nodded. Tears had welled up in her eyes without her realizing it. She stubbornly held back the tears like someone trying to endure and overcome crying.
“I want to find the culprit. It’s late, but… I want to find them and make them pay for their sins.”
“……”
“And I want to ask them. Why did they do that?”
“……”
“Our mom… Even in my young eyes, she was an angel. She loved paintings, flowers, and animals. Why… would someone like that… have to be killed, even to the point of arranging an accident? What wrong did our mom do?”
“Right. Let’s find out and ask. Definitely… let’s ask. I’ll make sure of that. I’ll definitely find that bastard.”
“I’ll help too.”

“No, you’ve been dealing with the Jominhyung problem for a while now, causing you a headache. So, I’ll handle this. And I’ll share everything with you one by one. We can’t afford to miss Jominhyung, who is trying to get away to catch that guy.”
That was the reason he told her to stay out of it for a while. Using Jominhyung as an excuse.
“But don’t worry. Whatever those guys do, I’ll make them kneel in front of you no matter what.”
Yes, he would.
No matter how big the guy is, it doesn’t matter.
He will find him, confirm the truth, and say it.
Taehun planned to catch both Jominhyung and that guy, the two rabbits.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
