“Don’t worry. That’s why I’m working so hard like this. Once we successfully win the bid for the theme hotel site and the plan progresses realistically, we should be able to sway the small shareholders to some extent. Well… if luck is on our side, some of those directors who were on my dad’s side might come over to my side.”
“Aren’t you worried?”
“Worried? What is there to worry about? Worried that my dad and Jo Minhyung might see eye to eye? That will never happen. No matter how much of a low Jo Minhyung hits, he has too much pride to last long with my dad.”
Park Director nodded as if there was logic in that statement.
Certainly. Here’s the translation:
Baek CEO and Jo Minhyung were fundamentally different. Of course, Baek CEO was a remarkable figure who spared no effort for the company, but at least he didn’t engage in inhuman actions like Jo Minhyung.
Until now, they hadn’t directly clashed with Jo Minhyung, so they didn’t know much about him. But if they started meeting frequently behind the scenes, Baek CEO, who was quick-witted, wouldn’t take long to grasp Jo Minhyung’s intentions.
No, perhaps he had already figured it out.
“Let’s go downstairs. We’ll wait for Tae Joon.”
“Yes.”
Both of them waited for the elevator together. However, as luck would have it, just as the elevator they were waiting for opened, they came face to face with CEO Baek, who was leaving work as if it were some twist of fate.
Director Park was taken aback, but Seo Rin boarded the elevator with a composed expression, offering a light nod in acknowledgment.

A stifling silence filled the cramped space. Director Park was usually unshakable, but the presence of CEO Baek and Seo Rin in the same space left him visibly unsettled.
It felt like a tense standoff, like a drawn bowstring that could snap at any moment, tightening the skin.
And, as if on cue, Seo Rin broke the tense silence.
“So, I hear you’ve been meeting with Cho Min Hyung lately?”
“Hmm! Cough, cough.”
Director Park was so surprised that he couldn’t even swallow what was in his mouth, and he coughed. CEO Baek, on the other hand, looked down at Seo Rin with furrowed eyebrows.
I don’t understand why a simple question like that can make me feel so embarrassed and wounded.
It’s all because of that damn Cho Min Hyung.
Just the fact that I meet him is enough to make me feel ashamed to the point of blushing.
But CEO Baek couldn’t refuse and nodded calmly, disguised as nonchalance.
“Yes, we do meet. After all, he’s a shareholder. Does that bother you?”
In response to the pointed question, Seo Rin turned her head and met CEO Baek’s gaze confidently. The wrinkles between his eyebrows indicated that she had successfully gotten under his skin.

So she delivered the final confirmation with an even steadier voice.
“No, not at all. Ja-[hyphen]al, we’re meeting.”
Emphasizing the “Ja-[hyphen]al,” Seo Rin’s attitude, which supported their meeting, shattered what was left of CEO Baek’s fragile pride.
The air suddenly grew heavy as if cold water had been poured over it.
Fortunately, the elevator arrived at the lobby, and if Seo Rin hadn’t exited, Director Park might have suffocated right there.
“Well, I think I’ll head home now. Take care.”
Director Park also attempted to exit, but coincidentally, his car was in the basement, so he found himself in a situation where he had to linger in the elevator a bit longer with CEO Baek.
“It seems like there’s no end to the nonsense.”
CEO Baek muttered under his breath.
However, as I listened to the sound of him cursing like that, a combination of futile courage and unnecessary cheekiness seemed to merge within me, and before I knew it, words spilled out of my mouth.
“You do know why Mr. Jo Minhyung and the Vice President broke up, right?”
However, once those words were blurted out, there was no way to take them back.

CEO Baek’s intense gaze slowly turned towards Director Park.
“What are you trying to say?”
Director Park was usually someone who never crossed the line, but this time, he couldn’t stay silent.
“Well, sir. It’s just that Mr. Jo Minhyung tried to do the same thing to those women not too long ago, that bastard.”
“!”
“I think you should know.”
Nevertheless, since CEO Baek was family, he had some knowledge of the real reason they broke up. Therefore, Director Park could accurately understand the meaning behind the words he had just uttered.
“Then, I’ll be going.”
Director Park stepped back, but CEO Baek remained standing in place, motionless.
Though he still appeared composed, his fingers were clenched into a tight fist, pressing into the palm of his hand.
How long did he stand like that?

Finally, an unbearable curse slipped out.
“You… piece of garbage.”
A smile crept onto Tae Joon’s lips as he stood in front of the Seongwon Building, looking at the entrance revolving door. It was because Seo Rin had just appeared at the entrance.
He didn’t take his eyes off her until she got into the car.
“Suddenly in the mood for a movie?”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
