Lord Preston's Secret Tutor (47 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 66
A moment later, Jacqueline asked in a dazed voice. Her breath, slipping past her lips, scattered into fragments against Windsor’s palm.
He slowly withdrew his hand. The puff of air tickled between the creases of his palm. As if shaking off that sharp sensation, Windsor slowly curled his fingers into a fist.
The brief pressure of his short nails against his skin finally made it somewhat bearable. From below, a reproachful voice floated up.
“You startled me! But what brings you here?”
“And where might Miss Somerset be headed at this hour of the night?”
“The lightning—no, that’s not what I asked! Why are *you* here?”
Jacqueline, nearly swept away by his deft topic shift, redirected her question back to its original intent. Windsor took a step backward.
“Thunder is merely an electrical discharge phenomenon in the atmosphere, but you seem to disagree with that notion.”
“…?”
Jacqueline tilted her head in puzzlement. Then, with a dubious tone—like a translator carefully interpreting a foreign language—she asked again,
“So… you were worried about me?”
Sometimes, there were moments when one had to translate the other’s words into their own language.
Windsor said nothing. Realizing at last that her interpretation was correct, Jacqueline’s eyes widened into perfect circles.
A soundless laugh burst forth. She laughed, just as a tightly closed bud finally unfurls its petals under persistent sunlight.
Windsor Preston had angered her twice as much—but also made her twice as happy.

Oh Jacqueline’s mother, don’t you know your ender is reading the letters you send, you sorry excuse of a mother. I hope she too, will get her dues and Jacqueline will become independent from her. I admire Jacqueline’s character a lot, however I hope she will continue to grow enough to prioritize herself, even if it means cutting her mother off.

P.S. Think carefully—what would your father have said if he saw your actions?"
Yo, her father is one hell of a jerk for the way he died without setting any nets to protect his family. However her mother is on a different level of a villain. I think her character being so realistic is heavily contributing to my excessive dislike of her. Jacqueline please live for yourself.
- Poporro Chapter 67 — Paragraph 11
The eyes that had brushed her cheek now drifted slowly downward along her neck.
Ah, young love. It’s been a minute since a novel has captured the feeling and excitement of the stage before two people realize their feelings so vividly. The pacing between the characters relationship and growth as individuals is so satisfying and intense.
