Besides, the actual living spaces like the bedroom and study were simple, so there was no worry about them being overwhelming.

“The furniture is all big and impressive.”

This would have been inconvenient if I were a real child, but mentally, I was an adult. It would have been more uncomfortable if it had been decorated for a child, as it would constantly remind me of my youthful appearance.

Fortunately, I had Tulla to take care of me all day, so the slight physical discomfort was a small price to pay for visual comfort.

“Yes, it’s good (그래, 좋구나).”

The palace was neither too small nor too big, with an adult-like atmosphere that I found satisfactory, and an interior I wouldn’t be embarrassed to show others.

As the Grand Duke’s playmate who might host parties at the palace in the future, these were very satisfying conditions for me.

“Let’s meet the new staff now.”

As the Grand Duke said, there would be no situation he couldn’t handle. The staff replenished during the move was sufficient.

Now, all that was left was to showcase my skills.

Ella was originally a kitchen maid in the Empress’s Palace. She was transferred to Jasper Palace by an imperial order after the Grand Duke’s playmate was chosen.

Even during the transfer, she didn’t feel any particular tension. She had served the most revered woman in the empire, so she thought serving a young princess from the countryside wouldn’t be challenging.

In fact, she expected her job to become easier with fewer staff and no strict housekeeper.

“Is this everything (이게 전부인가)?”

But the moment she saw Princess Blanche being carried in by the nanny, Ella realized she had misjudged the situation.

Although she had served the most revered woman in the empire, Ella never had direct interactions with the Empress. She just had to do her assigned tasks well.
But being in the presence of the one she served made her automatically straighten her back. Despite her small size, barely reaching Ella’s knees when getting down from the nanny’s arms, the princess had a way of commanding respect.

Contrary to her three years, Princess Blanche surveyed them with a cool gaze before speaking.

“Everyone, you’ll have to endure some hardship for a while.”

For a moment, Ella thought Blanche meant to make them suffer.

Bai Lian was accustomed to hosting banquets. She had been the head of the Li family from a young age and later became the most favored official of the Emperor.

Today, she hosted another banquet. It was a celebration in honor of her new appointment as an opposing general.

Like all her banquets, it was flawless. The fragrance of peach blossom wine was delightful, the food was exquisite, and the orchestra played beautifully.

Although the usual lively atmosphere of a banquet was absent, it was precisely the perfection Bai Lian desired.

Any disturbance would be her responsibility, after all.

“Bai Lian, come here.”

Called by the Emperor, who was seated at the highest place, Bai Lian moved with a bottle of wine in hand.

“It’s an honor to grace your event.”

Normally, the Emperor wouldn’t attend a subject’s banquet, but Bai Lian’s was an exception. As the second-most powerful person in the empire, her events were special.

This was both a display of the Emperor’s favor and a way to set her banquets apart.

“Of course, I had to attend. Such a solemn banquet is rare to see.”

Ja Chengliang chuckled and raised his glass, while Bai Lian filled it with wine from her bottle.

“I warned that if any generals danced with their swords at my banquet, they would be imprisoned. Knowing that, it’s bound to be solemn.”

Bai Lian referred to a fight that broke out at another general’s banquet. Two drunken generals had drawn swords against each other.

The host, known for his gentle and forgiving nature, warned them privately and publicly claimed they were merely performing a sword dance.

That poor excuse was both laughable and the generals were competent in their usual duties, so Bai Lian accepted the explanation and asked the Emperor to overlook the incident.

However, had they caused such a scene at her place, she would have locked them in the dungeon without a second thought. Fortunately, they behaved themselves this time, quietly sipping their drinks.

“Why not just skip hosting banquets? Aren’t the ones I host enough?”

Indeed, Bai Lian’s promotion party had already been celebrated, hosted by the palace.

Her new title was the Chief General, combining the roles of the Head and Great Generals into a single position of military supremacy.

Given the significance, Chengliang had hosted a week-long grand banquet. So, technically, Bai Lian had no need to host another one herself, especially given her disposition.

“I needed to clear the overwhelming gratitude before it dried up.”

Bai Lian said, glancing towards the garden’s center. There was a small lake there.

Made of wine.

When the male lead is punished by carrying the female lead’s child and having periods like a woman

“I’ve given birth to two children for you, yet you still think about him.

Was I nothing but his substitute to you from beginning to end?”
