“What kind of misunderstanding? That you aspire to become the mistress of the Vuel Count’s house? Or that you’re flattering Countess Antara to gain a foothold in society?”

“Oh, sister…”

Berita looked up at me with hurt eyes, biting her lip.

The employees around started murmuring, guessing our relationship.

In the heart of gossip, the dress shop, the story I initiated was enough to become the talk of the evening dinner.

I glanced at the employees and smirked.

It worked out well since I was pondering how to turn Rainburton’s request for a family discord rumor into gossip.

“Sister… I just wanted to attend the banquet.”

I chuckled sardonically, narrowing my eyes. Attending the banquet as well as moving around with Antara? I had warned her not to attend for fear of her spouting nonsense like in the original story, but she ignored that too.

‘She must think very lightly of me.’

I swallowed the rising anger with a faint smile.

Meanwhile, Antara, her face flushed, pushed me towards the corridor.

“Let’s talk outside.”

“Why? I came here for this.”

“Do you really need to go this far, making your face all red?”

“The only ones blushing are you two.”

“You…”

Antara, speechless and biting her lip, was glanced at by Berita, who hastily approached and grabbed my hand.

“Sister, calm down. I know you’re still angry, but you’re being too harsh on Countess Antara.”

Still angry? What is she talking about?

Feeling an odd dissonance with Berita’s words, I shook off her hand.

‘Could it be, she…’

A suspicion crossed my mind, and I frowned.

“Berita, what do you think my words meant?”

Berita shrank her shoulders and trembled her eyelashes pitifully.

“That, that was just because you were momentarily angry, right?”

Ugh, I groaned and held my throbbing forehead.

After saying so much, does she think it was just a momentary anger? Does she think everything will be resolved once the anger subsides?
I burst into hollow laughter at Berita’s naive way of thinking and stared at her as she looked around nervously under my hand.

‘How can she lack so much discernment?’

It was evident from her hasty choice of Countess Antara as a backup after being cast away by me.

Feeling my icy gaze, Berita huddled, clasping her hands in front of her chest.

“Don’t be so heartless… I know it hurts you more, sister.”

Sigh. It seems I need to make things clearer to her.

Smiling faintly, I gently tucked Berita’s soft pink hair behind her ear, as I used to do while singing her lullabies. I leaned closer and spoke firmly into her ear.

“I’ll make it clear so even someone as foolish as you won’t misunderstand.”

“Eek.”

Berita flinched at the chill in my voice. I held the back of her head to keep her from retreating.

“I’ve abandoned you.”

I tilted my head, smiling sweetly at Berita, who turned pale.

“And soon, you’ll be discarded by Countess Antara too.”

I’ve just decided that I must shatter Antara’s social standing, for your sake too.

I sneered at Berita, who looked dazed, and then caught Antara’s eye as I stepped back.

A mother-in-law who made me suffer and a sister-in-law who cheated with my husband. What a fitting pair.

“I never knew Countess Antara was so close with Berita.”

“What, does it bother you? That I’m going around with your sister?”

Antara taunted, crossing her arms.

“After all, we never went out when we lived together. How could I, with someone as unfashionable as you? I’m sorry I only take Berita out?”

“No need to apologize. It would only embarrass me to be seen with you, anyway.”

“…What did you just say?”

Antara’s expression turned icy.

I gave her a wink and ended the tiresome exchange.

Male lead is a clingy little husband

One-line summary: The male lead is initially an arrogant, noble, love-deprived brat, later a cute, clingy, scheming little jealous one.

Introduction:

One day, Lu Yuner’s soul transmigrates into a female-dominant world. She enters the Imperial Academy and takes up the position of a doctoral instructor, teaching classes and grading schoolwork.

One day, she encounters the young prince Su Qingwan secretly skipping class from the male academy.

As a result, Su Qingwan is punished.

From then on, Su Qingwan sees Lu Yuner as a “thorn in his side”.

But before long, this “thorn” becomes the person he cherishes most, and he goes to great lengths to win Lu Yuner’s affection.

Mini scene 1:

One day, the sun is high in the sky but Su Qingwan still hasn’t gotten up for class.

Servant Xiaoyuan: “Young prince, it’s time for class. You’ll be late otherwise.”

Su Qingwan says arrogantly: “I’m not going. I am the esteemed prince, my status is so noble, why should I suffer this hardship? Besides, isn’t learning all this just to please women? Hmph, they’re not worthy!”

Mini scene 2:

After Su Qingwan falls for someone, he completely changes. He no longer skips class and diligently learns how to be a good husband and father. But he discovers that Sister Yuner is always surrounded by admirers.

Drunk and overcome with jealousy one day, he clings to Lu Yuner, crying beautifully like a pear blossom in the rain.

Su Qingwan: “Qingwan likes Sister Yuner.”

Lu Yuner: “Young prince, you’re drunk.”

Su Qingwan: “Qingwan isn’t drunk. Qingwan likes Sister Yuner, likes you so much, likes you to bits…” Before he can finish, Lu Yuner’s eyes flash with emotion and she leans in closer.

[Reading Guide]

1. The female lead is gentle, gracious, humble and polite but not weak. The male lead is initially an arrogant, noble, love-deprived brat, later a cute, clingy, scheming little jealous one.

2. 1v1, a bit torturous in the beginning but definitely sweet later on.
