Lirien glanced sleepily at Edmund and headed for the door.

“…But you must be gentlemanly so as not to offend Etrisha. I was worried sick even when you went out for legal consultations.”

“Understood.”

“Really?”

“…”

As Edmund gave her a dismissive look, Lirien acknowledged and slammed the door behind her.

After her footsteps faded down the corridor, Edmund, with a look of fatigue, sank deeply into his chair.

A figure emerged from the shadows.

It was Rail.

“Tail has arrived at the domain leading the knights. He showed the nobles the award certificate to silence their resistance. He’ll contact us through the communication network after dealing with Uncle Doben, his children, and their followers.”

Edmund twisted his mouth in a savage grin, half his face covered by his hand.

“I regret not being able to see them beg like dogs.”

“Life as worthless as a minnow’s. It’s not even worth watching. We’ll confiscate their property, exile them, and assign watchers to prevent any mischief.”

Rail, grinding his teeth, then seemed to remember something.

“Some nobles are still skeptical even after seeing the award certificate since there’s been no formal announcement from the royal family. What should we do?”

“Do I need to spell it out?”

Rail chuckled and bowed at Edmund’s sharp response.

“We’ll find reasons to exile them.”

Rail glanced up at Edmund.

He had never doubted Edmund’s declaration of reclaiming his title. The rightful place was always his.

‘Now that he is the rightful duke, will he become my lord?’

Feeling a sting at the tip of his nose, Rail rubbed it with his knuckles, steadying his emotions.

Though granted authority, the formal announcement was still pending. He had to be cautious not to ruin everything with premature excitement.

Exiling the distant relatives was just the beginning.

After taking a breath, Rail calmly spoke.

“Tail has commissioned new portraits and distributed them to the dispatched men. We’ll report as soon as we get any sightings.”

Edmund nodded slightly and lowered his hand from his face. His eyes, now straightened, bore a fierce murderous intent.

The subjugation in Jeder Forest was essentially a hunt. As a boy, he might have found the enemy who killed his parents in that forest, swinging his spear wildly with the madness of vengeance.
Perhaps it was a scream.

Even as time passed and senses dulled, the blood-red eyes that had turned away from him in that moment haunted him as a nightmare.

The destination of his dreams, where he ran endlessly through darkness, was the eyes of the monster, as hot as his own hatred.

Thus, Edmund was certain. If he encountered the enemy he met daily in his dreams, he would surely recognize them.

He dispatched search parties across the empire with a portrait of the monster from his dreams, but reports of no success followed.

As the number of monsters dwindled, Edmund, consumed with bursting anger and murderous intent, strangely felt a sense of emptiness.

After nine years, inside him remained not the raging flames of the past, but a smoldering ember that refused to die, fueled by the obsession to find them someday.

He had no intention of stopping until his dying breath.

He was no longer the helpless boy but the sole Miphidian Duke of the empire, untouchable by anyone.

Edmund, with a heavy expression, opened his eyes that he had closed, feeling a piercing gaze on his cheek.

“Is there anything more to say?”

Rail averted his gaze, scratching his nose.

As he hesitated, Edmund sighed impatiently.

“If you have something to say, don’t drag it out.”

“Is it really alright for you to accompany the ladies on their outing?”

“Why wouldn’t it be?”

“Lady Lirien asked you to be gentlemanly. It’s true that she was targeted for assassination, but the order was quickly retracted, and with the sister-in-law matter too, she feels sorry for her, so maybe be a little more”

“Do I seem incapable of that?”

“…….”

…Yes. Rail silently answered in his mind, closing his mouth tight like a clam.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
