With a gulp, Verita swallowed her breath heavily. Her lips parted like slashes. Her reaction was too naïve for someone who had betrayed her sister-in-law and committed adultery with her husband.

Yet, perhaps anticipating this confrontation, she looked down with trembling eyes and spoke with feigned composure.

“Sister, I don’t understand what you’re talking about. Why would you ask me about your husband’s wellbeing?”

“You left me alone in a corner of the mansion, crying miserably, to go on a trip with Devon. You comforted me the night before when I was crying over Devon’s infidelity.”

But was that all? I lazily brushed my hair back with the back of my hand and spoke, knowing all these situations from reading the original story.

“In the mansion, you enjoyed your romance out of my sight. Under the dining table, it was footsie, behind the doors, kisses. And in his bedroom in the dead of night when I was asleep… I don’t want to say more, it’s too filthy.”

“S-Sister, I think your memory is distorted from being so shocked by your husband’s affair. Perhaps you should see a doctor for a thorough examination?”

Ha, blaming me to hide her own guilt. I twisted my lips and glared fiercely, making Verita flinch.

“You recommended the shadow guild to me, trying to drive a wedge between Devon and me, didn’t you? And disgustingly, you dealt with the guild to hide your own affair. You must have enjoyed playing me for a fool, thinking you could manipulate me at any time.”

“I-It’s a misunderstanding! I recommended the guild because you were so suspicious of your husband! Don’t you see you’re insulting me…?”

Verita looked at me pitifully with tears welling up in her clear eyes, enough to make an outsider think I was the aggressor.

But I deliberately narrowed my eyes and smiled brightly.

“Oh, Verita. You can’t call this an insult, not when I haven’t even started yet.”

Sensing something unusual in my reaction, Verita’s face drained of color. She quickly stood up.

“I can’t talk to you when you’re this agitated. Please invite me over when you’ve calmed down.”

Trying to escape when cornered?

I snorted softly and gently picked up my teacup.

“Sit down. Before I rudely grab your hair.”

Verita flinched as she passed the table.

I leisurely sipped my tea and then looked up, locking eyes with her.

The throbbing in her neck was visible, betraying her fear that her sins would be exposed.

She sat down again, her eyes downcast in resignation.

“How did you know…?”

“Is that important?”

What mattered was her affair with my husband. I sipped my tea, then set it down just as she gasped for breath and began to shed transparent tears.

“I-I suffered too. Falling in love with my brother-in-law…”

Ha, such a petty self-pity. Verita never cared how shattered Ettrisha’s heart must have been, betrayed by both her sister-in-law and husband.

Alright, let’s see how far this goes. I leaned back, crossing my arms.

“What was so hard about it?”

“The day you introduced me to that man, it was the first time I’d seen a nobleman. The men I knew were always dirty and smelly, but he was different. He shone so brightly… I was always lonely, and he comforted me.”

“So you found comfort in his bed? Even in the mansion where I was staying?”

Cutting her off coldly, Verita nervously started.

“You know, I’m an orphan. You didn’t socialize or provide me with a chaperone, and as I aged, opportunities to meet men were scarce for a commoner like me…….”
“Just get to the point.”

With a calm response, Verita gnawed her lips. Perhaps she had expected me to cry out in betrayal or try to coax me into accepting her as a mistress. Her intentions were so clear that I couldn’t help but laugh.

Verita hesitated before looking up at me with innocent eyes.

“Sister, he said he loves me. That I’m his everything. He said that even after meeting all the women in the world, none can compare to me. So, can’t you just let him go to me?”

“What…?”

I was taken aback, waiting for some kind of excuse, but my mind went blank.

Is she serious? Shouldn’t she be apologizing instead of asking for this?

Feeling utterly dumbfounded, I realized how absurd this situation was.

Verita, sensing my expression, looked down, cowed.

“This is for your sake too, Sister. Both of you being together without love will only bring misery.”

Even sensing my sharp gaze, Verita continued to speak loosely.

“Besides, Devon’s infidelity was an expression of dissatisfaction… He was angry with you for not defending him when all the central nobles were falsely accusing and opposing his promotion.”

“Are you saying it’s my fault that he sought a mistress?”

Verita sealed her lips as if confirming the truth, and tears fell through her softly cascading hair.

“Sister, you have everything. You don’t need that man. The late Duke of Vuiel only left me an old mansion…”

Really now? I twisted my lips in scorn and tapped the table lightly.

Cold Male Lead Became My Clingy Husband (Female-Dominant)

Feng Bai Su transmigrated into a matriarchal novel, becoming the sister of the female protagonist and the Seventh Princess of the Feng Ling Kingdom.

After working herself to death in her previous life, finally reincarnating as a princess, she only wanted to be a lazy fish who could eat, sleep, and play.

Until she met the male protagonist from the book, Wei Jing Mo, and he took a liking to her!

Wei Jing Mo is the top young man in Feng Ling City, talented in both appearance and ability, from a prestigious family, with a cold and otherworldly appearance, a figure like the bright moon in the hearts of noble ladies. It was thought that only the most powerful and talented noble lady in Feng Ling City would be worthy of such a brilliant young man. Who knew that this young gentleman would secretly admire the infamous Seventh Princess?

Short scene 1:

Feng Bai Su looked at the young man crying like a pear blossom in the rain before her, and couldn’t help but doubt her life.

Wasn’t the male lead described as a cold and otherworldly figure in the book?

Then who was this poor little thing crying with swollen red eyes and tear-stained face?

Short scene 2:

Wei Jing Mo stared intently at Feng Bai Su who was about to go out, wanting to say, “Be careful on the road.”

Before he could speak, Feng Bai Su suddenly bent down and bit his cheek.

Her peach blossom eyes were full of disdain: “Tsk! You’re so clingy!”

Wei Jing Mo: “…”

A talented fox spirit female lead with a flirtatious appearance but actually abstinent VS A cold-looking but actually naive and clingy little jealous male lead
