Let's Kidnap The Male Lead! (19 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 16
“XX, it’s over.”
Vivian, who had been watching the footage, involuntarily cursed aloud.
It was ruined.
Not just ruined—completely, irreparably ruined.
‘Kidnapping the original female lead?’
This disaster should never have happened.
It was already dangerous enough that they’d meant to kidnap the male lead but ended up abducting the villain instead—and now, they’d even gone so far as to kidnap the female lead.
In other words, the original storyline might have completely collapsed.
Truthfully, she’d been worried even when they kidnapped Dietrich, but she’d deliberately chosen to ignore it…
But now that they’d kidnapped the female lead too, she had no choice but to admit it.
At this point, even if they were to kidnap Calis, it was safe to assume the chances of the story proceeding as originally written were drastically diminished.
‘…No wonder that target’s face looked oddly familiar.’
Of course—it was Dietrich’s younger sister, whom she’d said goodbye to just this morning.
She’d been completely unaware of this fact and had genuinely expected it to be Calis. Vivian clutched her forehead in despair.
‘Why the hell were you even cross-dressing in the first place?’
She’d never heard anything about Ludovica, the original female lead, having a hobby of cross-dressing.
If she’d known about such a habit, she certainly would’ve been more careful during the kidnapping.
Vivian felt like burying her face into the floor and crying right then and there—but this wasn’t the time for that.
She had to somehow fix this mess.
“But seriously, how am I supposed to fix this?!”
Even if she managed to calm down the rampaging Ludovica, she couldn’t think of any viable solution to restore the original plot.
As Vivian stood there sniffling, Len quickly draped a special robe over her—one that blurred facial features.
“Lady Vivian, it’s dangerous. Please evacuate outside first. I’ll handle this one.”
“No. I’m the one who has to go. You stay right here and don’t move. I’ll take care of it.”
She still wasn’t sure how to restore the original storyline, but for now, she planned to go and soothe Ludovica.
Leaving her as she was would inevitably lead to another round of property destruction—just like with Dietrich.
‘It hasn’t even been that long since I repaired the hideout. I can’t bear to watch her demolish it all over again.’
As Vivian removed the robe and prepared to step outside, Len grabbed her arm.
“It’s dangerous! No, you can’t go alone. At least let me follow you.”
For once, seeing Len being so stubborn made Vivian chuckle softly.
Despite having just witnessed Ludovica easily smash through a heavy iron door, he still wanted to follow her.
Unlike Ludovica, Len was just an ordinary person—obviously possessing no special abilities to rely on.
Yet his insistence on coming along out of concern for her was… slightly touching.
“Oh, come on. Don’t worry. Stay here and trust me. You’ll listen to me, right?”
To be honest, saying she wasn’t scared would’ve been a lie.
After all, she was about to go meet someone who was wildly swinging a terrifying, blood-red mace.
Moreover, in the original story, Ludovica had torn countless people to shreds.
Not bears—actual people.
‘She might even try to tear me apart too, since I’m the one who kidnapped her…’
Either way, since she’d caused this mess herself, she had to fix it personally. As the old saying went: “The one who ties the knot must untie it.”
Just as Vivian tried to leave after calming Len down, he grabbed her again, insisting she wear a mask before going out.
‘Hmm. He’s right—I should probably cover my face. She might recognize me otherwise.’
Dietrich had recognized her as Vivian Schmidt from just a brief glance at her face. Ludovica might do the same.
She quickly put on a mask and dashed outside.
Since everything was already ruined anyway, she wanted to get there as fast as possible—even if just to stop more property damage.
But… was it just her imagination?
For a split second, it seemed like her shadow squirmed and wriggled.
‘Huh?’
She looked down again, but the shadow was perfectly still—as if nothing had happened.
‘Did I see things because I was too desperate? That couldn’t possibly have happened.’

Feeling embarrassed, she shrugged her shoulders and sprinted off at full speed once more.
Thus, Vivian—who had so boldly run toward Ludovica—stopped right in front of her, utterly cowed.
“You? You’re the kidnapper?”
Facing the original female lead, who spoke with a voice as cold as snowfields, was far more frightening than she’d anticipated.
That blood-red mace, resembling the blood of a beast, looked even more menacing up close.
Suddenly, Vivian recalled the scenes from the original where Ludovica tore people to pieces.
‘Maybe I really should’ve just run away…’
Though she’d resolved to calm Ludovica down somehow, regret was already washing over her.
“Eeep! I-I’m so sorry! It was me. I’m really sorry.”
She tried to keep her composure, but it wasn’t easy.
Compared to the intimidating Ludovica, Vivian was trembling and profusely apologizing.
Somehow, Ludovica felt even eerier than Dietrich.
Meanwhile, Ludovica slowly scanned the kidnapper who had suddenly appeared and was frantically apologizing.
‘This flimsy-looking person kidnapped me?’
Though the mask and robe concealed the kidnapper’s entire body, Ludovica could vaguely guess their build from the silhouette.
Given that she—a skilled swordmage—had been kidnapped without even noticing, the kidnapper must clearly be a formidable expert…
Yet the person standing before her was a delicate woman barely reaching average height.
Moreover, despite being the one who’d abducted her, the kidnapper was oddly trembling in fear.
‘Could it be… she’s scared just because I broke a few things? How cute.’
The kidnapper’s unexpected appearance piqued Ludovica’s interest more and more.
As she stepped closer, the kidnapper slowly backed away, trying to put distance between them.
“Hmm.”
Ludovica didn’t like how the kidnapper kept trying to run away.
In one swift motion, she grabbed the kidnapper’s shoulder and pinned her against the wall.
Then, she caged her between her own arm and the wall so she couldn’t easily escape.
“Why keep trying to run away? You brought me here against my will—you owe me an explanation, don’t you?”
“Eeep! Y-yes! Of course, of course!”
Vivian tried her best to sound calm, but inside, she was anything but.
‘Did I just get “wall-kissed”? By the female lead?!’
The sudden turn of events left Vivian so flustered her vision spun.
Meanwhile, Ludovica reached out and removed the kidnapper’s mask. Vivian couldn’t even resist.
“…!”
At last, the kidnapper’s face hidden beneath the mask was revealed.
Her wavy bob shimmered with a lilac-like purple hue.
Her round, gentle eyes belonged to a face so endearing it was almost overwhelming.
‘A rabbit? A puppy?’
She looked far too harmless to be someone bold enough to commit kidnapping.
Her trembling fear, like a rabbit facing a predator, stirred something dark within Ludovica.
Ludovica decided she wanted to tease the kidnapper.
“So then—why did you kidnap me, who was perfectly fine minding my own business?”
“Ah, well… um…”
“Shh. Let me guess first.”
Intimidated by Ludovica’s domineering attitude, Vivian nodded shakily.
“Hmm… Did you kidnap me because you wanted to die by my hand?”
“H-huh?!”
Caught off guard by the sudden question, Vivian stammered in visible shock.
‘Don’t panic. Don’t panic. I have my ability—I can always run if things go wrong. It’s fine.’
She repeated this to herself over and over, yet her nerves refused to settle.
If anything, her shoulders grew even more rigid with tension.
Ludovica looked down at her with a crooked smirk—the kind that sent chills down one’s spine.

“You wouldn’t have kidnapped me without fear, knowing the rumors about my red eyes, would you? There’s no other reason, is there?”
“…Rumors?”
Contrary to Ludovica’s expectation that Vivian would tremble in terror, Vivian just tilted her head in confusion.
“The rumor that those with red eyes crave blood.”
Only after hearing the rumor did Vivian finally react the way Ludovica had anticipated—she flinched violently and shook her head vigorously.
Seeing Vivian so flustered, Ludovica let out a sinister chuckle.
“Hehehe… Just kidding. You kidnapped me because you’re into me, right?”
I-I’m into her?! Vivian was stunned yet again.
At this rate, she was going to lose her liver from all the shocks.
‘I only kidnapped her because I thought she was Calis!’
Kidnapping someone out of romantic interest? What kind of absurd logic was this?
Vivian tried to deny it, given the female lead’s completely nonsensical reasoning.
But the denial died in her throat before it could escape—because of what Ludovica said next.
“If not… then there’s no reason to keep a mere kidnapper alive, is there?”
Ludovica’s empty hand was suddenly filled once more with her blood-red mace.
Faced with this threat, Vivian tearfully gave in.
“Yes! Yes! You’re just so beautiful and handsome—I couldn’t help but kidnap you because I liked you! Wahh, I’m so sorry!”
“Hehe… Really?”
Vivian nodded desperately.
Only then did Ludovica curl her lips upward in clear satisfaction.
Her expression was identical to that of a demon who’d finally gotten what she wanted.
Sweat poured coldly down Vivian’s back as she stared at that terrifying face.
“This is the first time someone’s shown me such… passionate interest. You like me enough to kidnap me? You’re adorable.”
Vivian couldn’t comprehend a single word. Clearly, something had gone horribly wrong.
“I like you. I’ll make you my special friend.”
A friend… all of a sudden?
Vivian was bewildered once again by the female lead’s unpredictable thought process.
“What? Don’t you want to? Then maybe…”
Ludovica raised her weapon.
That horrifying weapon loomed menacingly in Vivian’s field of vision.
If she so much as touched those sharp, magically forged steel orbs, she’d be reduced to bones.
“W-what are you saying?! Of course we’ll be friends! Friends! Let’s be friends! Wahaha!”
As if she’d been waiting for this, Ludovica dismissed her weapon. The mace dissipated into thin air.
Then, she released the arm that had been trapping the kidnapper and gently patted Vivian’s lavender hair like one would a puppy.
The soft, fluffy texture pleased her greatly.
“Yes, that’s the right answer. Now that we’re friends, you should introduce yourself. My name is Ludov…”
“Ruby! Can I call you Ruby?”
Panicked that Ludovica was about to reveal her real name, Vivian hastily cut her off.
‘If we both reveal our real names, it’s all over. There’s no way I can fix the original storyline then.’
In that panic, she’d blurted out a random nickname—but now that she thought about it, it actually sounded pretty good.
“…Ruby? I’ve heard that close friends call each other by nicknames. But why ‘Ruby’ of all names?”
“Y-your eyes… they’re as beautiful as rubies. They sparkle just like precious rubies.”
“…”
Ludovica fell silent for a moment, seemingly lost in thought.
Vivian cautiously watched her, only her eyes moving.
She hoped the nickname wasn’t something Ludovica disliked—her heart pounded nervously—but fortunately, that didn’t seem to be the case.
“…Then let me give you a nickname too.”
“O-of course! Um… please call me Sapphire!”
‘After Ruby, I pick Sapphire? Even I think that’s cringey.’
But in her rush to think of a name vague enough to avoid identification, this was truly the best she could do.

Unfortunately, it seemed Ludovica wasn’t impressed—her eyebrow visibly arched upward.
“Nicknames are supposed to be given by friends, right? Instead of Sapphire… how about ‘Bibi’?”
“Huh?”
“I’ll call you Bibi from now on.”
Huh? Bibi?
Why did my name just come up…?
Hearing a nickname so close to her actual name, Vivian couldn’t hide the flicker of shock in her eyes.
