Before the entrance to Tartarus.

“Hey, Persephone…?”

“What is it?”

“Why did you come here?”

He rubbed his chin and pointed toward the bronze gate.

“You don’t mean that so-called worker… is a prisoner of Tartarus?”

Persephone blinked innocently. The more her eyes sparkled with naïveté, the darker the storm clouds gathering on his face grew.

‘Hmm, he clearly looks unwilling.’

Then again, if the man before her were a proper father, he’d worry—just like Demeter did—about her freely entering Tartarus.

But Persephone trusted Thanatos or Nyx—who would protect her the moment she stepped into Tartarus—far more than Iasion.

Or even Hades, who governed the Underworld.

Besides, fate in ancient Greece was absurdly harsh yet fair.

If the prophecy Demeter received pointed to Persephone herself, then avoiding Tartarus out of fear of death could itself become the very cause of her demise.

It was infuriating, but that was simply how it was.

This was precisely why Persephone didn’t hesitate to head for Tartarus.
