When the door opened, what was revealed was a space packed tightly with items far more expensive than expected.

‘So it wasn’t just logs stacked inside, after all?’

Mounting racks holding shovels and plows. Solid-wood shelves for storing seeds and such. Square containers for grain. Straw spread across the floor. And even a threshing machine for separating grain from stalks.

Persephone, surveying the array of tools, swallowed hard.

…Hadn’t he given her far too much before leaving?

‘What exactly have I received from him so far?’

Persephone first spread her hand wide open and began folding her fingers one by one.

‘Map, Lady Hemera, storehouse, kitchen, administrative privileges….’

Just from what she could recall offhand, that already made five things.

Apparently, the ruler of the Underworld was unlike other gods from Greek and Roman mythology—not stingy at all, but instead remarkably generous.

And to Persephone, that unexpectedly grand generosity from the great King of the Dead was proving ‘slightly’ problematic.

She would be living in the Underworld for the next six months. Yet, rather than gaining his favor, she kept receiving more and more gifts from its sovereign.

True, this storehouse she’d just received was likely compensation for food-related efforts.

‘But what about the others?’

…She couldn’t find an answer.
