Thanatos had a bitter history with Sisyphus.

Sisyphus—the first king who founded the kingdom of Corinth. A notorious figure, extremely cunning and clever, who had even evaded Death himself—Thanatos.

Though now in the Underworld, he was stuck helplessly rolling a massive boulder.

He was the sort of rogue who, with his signature trickery, might very well escape the Underworld altogether, so he was under special watch.

Thus, Thanatos was closely observing whether Sisyphus had deliberately approached Persephone.

In Thanatos’s eyes reflected Persephone and Sisyphus, who was plowing the field like an ox.

Persephone loudly asked the grumbling Sisyphus,

“Haven’t you heard the story about how I threatened Charon while crossing the River Acheron?”

“I haven’t. And why should I care what god you are or where you go?”

“…….”

“……No, now that I think about it, I’m certain I did hear something like that. There must’ve been a good reason for it, right?”

“Do you even realize that ferryman was someone like you? Don’t speak carelessly about him.”

“…….”

One corner of Thanatos’s mouth, watching them, lifted slightly.

He stroked under his nose while gazing fondly at Persephone, who had raised her spade.
