Persephone gasped upon hearing Hades’ voice.
“Aaahhh!”
She sank to the floor where she stood and let out a silent scream.
I should’ve just pretended I wasn’t in the room!
Twisting her body anxiously, she glared at the door as if it were her mortal enemy.
She still couldn’t bring herself to fully trust Hades enough to face him directly.
Setting aside whether she could adapt to the Underworld, she simply wasn’t sure of his hidden motives.
Considering also Demeter’s prophecy, Hades himself might very well be the reason—
the very cause—for her eventual death and eternal stay in the Underworld.
“Since I’ve already answered him, I suppose I have to open the door now.”
Swallowing hard, Persephone cracked the door open slightly, stretching her neck out like a snake and forcing the corners of her mouth into a strained smile.
“D-do you… want to come in?”
Hades stood with his back turned to Persephone’s door, hands clasped behind him.
At the sound of her fumbling, he turned around.
“…What?”
