Interest Compounds on Revenge (Completed Main Story) - Side Story 7
Sarah doubted her own eyes. She couldn’t believe the person she was seeing before her was truly Allen MacDowell.
The Allen she remembered had been, well, like a glowing lightbulb.
But the man standing before her now… His once-lustrous golden hair had turned dull and ashen, and his formerly clear skin was covered in wounds.
He looked utterly broken, as if he’d been battered by relentless trials.
He resembled a burnt-out bulb—its filament snapped, no longer capable of emitting light.
“Sarah, do you know him?”
Charles, who had been walking ahead, came over and asked. His gaze soon followed Sarah’s toward Allen.
“Yes, he’s someone I knew long ago.”
“I’m sorry, Sarah.”
Charles gave Sarah a light hug to comfort her.
Meeting an old acquaintance in a place like this—he could only imagine how painful it must be for his wife, and it filled him with sorrow.
“Thank you for comforting me, Charles.”
Sarah turned away from Allen with a bitter smile.
Though she’d been overwhelmed with pity upon seeing him, that wasn’t why she’d come all the way to Reef Island.
Sarah quickly followed Charles toward the clinic.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.

This is sounding less like a punishment and more like a privilege.
Sometimes this novel’s inability to reflect anything close to realism frustrates me. Let’s reward arson and attempted murder! (Can’t help but point out the lack of creativity with Mr. Baker’s name.)
