Wells became, as expected, Lebon’s landmark. As expected, Vivian deserved much of the credit.

After switching to Wells’ diet, she had regained her former slim figure within just three months.

Of course, that wasn’t the only reason. On rainy days, Wells had become the primary gathering place for poets and painters.

“On rainy days, customers line up before the department store even opens.”

Jim Baker, apparently amazed by this sight, passionately explained it to Lea.

But Lea understood precisely why customers flocked there especially on overcast days.

The raindrops scattering beyond the large floor-to-ceiling windows, the gray-hued city, and people walking the streets under umbrellas… it all made for a poetic scene.

“Madam, it’s ready here.”

Jim Baker had brought the food packed for delivery to the Imperial Palace.

Today was the day Lea would visit the palace with Terren, so she intended to deliver it personally to Vivian. Just then, Terren arrived.

“It’s fortunate that Her Majesty has regained her confidence.”

Terren took the food from Lea’s hands and instead placed his newspaper into them. Lea immediately opened it and read the article about Vivian.

“‘Empress Vivian Regains Her Former Beauty?'”

Though Wells’ sales had risen thanks to her, Lea still felt a pang of bitterness.

It seemed to prove that even the freedom to gain weight was denied to an empress. The world’s eyes were constantly fixed on the palace. Such was the fate of royalty and celebrities.
