Interest Compounds on Revenge (Completed Main Story) - Side Story 12
It had been nearly eight years since Lea began managing the department store.
At first, there were trial-and-error phases, but now it had firmly established itself as a solid enterprise.
Of course, it wasn’t perfect yet—like having run only about 60 meters in a 100-meter sprint.
Meanwhile, their rival, May Queen Department Store, had changed ownership twice. Their overly elite-focused sales strategy had been their downfall.
In contrast, Fantasia had earned the reputation as Rubec Empire’s—and the world’s—first department store, drawing mixed reviews: some called it “the goose that laid the golden egg,” while others labeled it “the origin of women’s vanity and indulgence.”
Yet one thing was certain: it held immense economic and historical value.
Because of this, Lea and Terren were buried under work every day, and whenever they met, they were too busy discussing business.
“It’s an honor, but also quite a nuisance.”
Terren frowned as he read the letter bearing the imperial seal.
James usually didn’t deliver letters during breakfast unless it was truly urgent.
But since this one came from the imperial palace and the messenger insisted it was important, there was no choice.
“Terren, what’s the matter?”
“The presidential couple of Romerica is visiting Rubec.”
“Oh? Then why is it such a nuisance?”
“They apparently want to see the department store.”

Sometimes this novel’s inability to reflect anything close to realism frustrates me. Let’s reward arson and attempted murder! (Can’t help but point out the lack of creativity with Mr. Baker’s name.)
