Interest Compounds on Revenge (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 96
Terren was lying in ambush with Galdensia’s secret agents near a small canal in Brassel.
‘Why do I have to catch thieves from another country?’
The more he thought about it, the more absurd the situation became.
[Duke, please assist me. To raid Chief of Police Tuajo, we need someone whose involvement can’t be predicted.]
[Are you worried the information might leak?]
[Exactly. The civil service is so thoroughly corrupt that information could be leaked from anywhere.]
From the day Salame obtained the intelligence, he quietly began an internal investigation and discovered that the police department’s corruption was even worse than he had imagined.
[You understand what Lord Roberto must do while I raid the scene?]
[He must storm the police headquarters. According to the information we’ve gathered, the officers haven’t received their salaries for two months.]
Because of this, he—a foreigner nobody would suspect—had ended up in the position of having to apprehend Tuajo and the smugglers himself.
Past midnight, the canal was shrouded in mist that rose like smoke, obscuring visibility.
It was hard to believe weapons were really being traded in such a place. The agreed-upon time had long passed, yet there was no sign of anyone.
‘Did they catch on?’
That was the only explanation that made sense. In arms dealing, nothing was more important than keeping the appointed time.
‘Damn it, this could all go wrong.’

My Step-brother Is Obsessed With Me (Female-dominant)
A gentle female protagonist vs pitiful in the early stage, and a sick male protagonist in the later stage
Cheng Songer transmigrated into the body of a vicious cannon fodder female supporting character with the same name as her in a female-dominant novel.
In the original story, the cannon fodder female supporting character was inhumane, committing domestic violence, gambling excessively, being lustful, and even wanting to sell her stepbrother to a brothel for money.
As luck would have it, she just happened to transmigrate at this time.
Seeing Cheng Qingzhi biting his lip, enduring the tears in his eyes, looking pitiful, her heart softened.
She stuffed the money back into the Madam’s hand and reached out to him.
“Brother, come home with me.”

I don’t understand, if she is trying to save the twins, why is she putting a gun to her head? She needs to be alive for the twins to survive.
This is sounding less like a punishment and more like a privilege.
Sometimes this novel’s inability to reflect anything close to realism frustrates me. Let’s reward arson and attempted murder! (Can’t help but point out the lack of creativity with Mr. Baker’s name.)
