Interest Compounds on Revenge (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 87
Sarah headed toward the mansion’s wine cellar.
Lea’s father, Richard Hamilton, was a wine connoisseur.
He particularly enjoyed storing wine in oak barrels in the basement. Though now, the properly aged wine belonged to Allen.
‘I’ve searched the entire house. This is the only place left.’
She had thoroughly examined every possible spot where a memoir might be hidden.
She carefully inspected the basement, lined with row upon row of oak barrels.
Tapping each barrel with her hand to check if it was filled with wine, she examined them all—until she discovered one tucked away in a corner.
‘Only this one has a keyhole.’
Sarah immediately tapped the barrel. If it had been filled with wine, it would have produced a dull thud, but instead, it echoed with a hollow, light sound.
‘Could it be here?’
She pulled a key on a necklace from her pocket and inserted it into the hole. The key fit smoothly.
The real question was whether it would turn to the right.
‘Please!’
Closing her eyes as if offering a final prayer, she turned the key to the right.
With a click, a small door on the oak barrel opened. Sarah was so startled she remained frozen in place for a long moment.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.

I don’t understand, if she is trying to save the twins, why is she putting a gun to her head? She needs to be alive for the twins to survive.
This is sounding less like a punishment and more like a privilege.
Sometimes this novel’s inability to reflect anything close to realism frustrates me. Let’s reward arson and attempted murder! (Can’t help but point out the lack of creativity with Mr. Baker’s name.)
