Interest Compounds on Revenge (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 73
Lea desperately needed Grace’s answer.
How long had she been tormented by guilt? Though it hadn’t been her will, she had entered Grace’s body and ended up falling for Terren herself.
‘Lea Hamilton, that’s you. And Grace Bizac is Lea Hamilton.’
‘Huh?’
At first glance, it sounded like a very simple statement, yet its precise meaning was hard to grasp.
‘Grace, does that mean we’re one and the same?’
Lea shouted toward her again, but Grace never reappeared.
Instead, a horrific battlefield appeared before her eyes. Soldiers lay fallen in a smoky, hazy forest. Broken carriages and charred black remnants were visible everywhere.
‘Terren! Where are you?’
Barefoot and clad only in her chemise, Lea ran through the forest. With every step, corpses snagged her feet.
The scene was so wretched it was impossible to tell whether the dead were thieves or Terren’s soldiers.
‘I’m here! Please answer me!’
She dashed recklessly through the woods. Then, far ahead, she spotted something dangling from a massive tree.
It looked human—or perhaps a beast. Though she didn’t want to look, she found herself standing right before that tree.
‘Kyaaah! Luke!’

Xin Jiao Zhou is the leader of the world’s premier sect. She has just experienced betrayal from all sides, was poisoned in an assassination attempt, and faced death squad attacks while the poison was taking effect. After finally clearing out the scum from her sect, she was drugged again while trying to detoxify.

Xin Jiao Zhou: “???”
He fell ill.
She came to see him, bringing breakfast.
As she put down the breakfast and was about to leave, his hand slipped while holding the spoon. “Clank!”
She turned around upon hearing the noise.
He looked up at her, his eyebrows drooping: “My hand… has no strength.”
“Shall I… feed you?” she asked tentatively.
He opened his mouth cheerfully: “Ah—”
Thinking she was drowning, he jumped in without hesitation to save her, but nearly drowned himself. In the end, it was she who swam over to rescue him, giving him air underwater.
After emerging from the water, his ear tips turned red. He lightly brushed his cheek, tucking his sideburns behind his ear, revealing delicate, pink-tinged ear tips. He lowered his gaze, too embarrassed to look at her.
Xin Jiao Zhou: He’s truly beautiful, kind-hearted, and adorable.

I don’t understand, if she is trying to save the twins, why is she putting a gun to her head? She needs to be alive for the twins to survive.
This is sounding less like a punishment and more like a privilege.
Sometimes this novel’s inability to reflect anything close to realism frustrates me. Let’s reward arson and attempted murder! (Can’t help but point out the lack of creativity with Mr. Baker’s name.)
