Interest Compounds on Revenge (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 22
Late at night, Rafa was entertaining an important guest from abroad. Beside him was Maddox, the second-in-command of his organization.
“There are over a hundred Hamilton general stores throughout Galdensia. You certainly won’t regret it.”
Allen had never wanted to deal with Rafa in the first place. He disliked the man’s gypsy origins and his shady organization.
But since Rafa had offered the largest sum, refusing would clearly be a loss.
“After all, the name ‘Hamilton General Store’ alone is worth money.”
Allen was irritated by Rafa’s words.
“Don’t use the name Hamilton. As you know, the Hamilton family is branded as traitors. Customers wouldn’t want that either.”
It was already unpleasant enough that the name still lingered all over Galdensia. That was precisely why he wanted to erase every trace of Hamilton—even selling off the general stores.
“Oh, come now! We have our own people in Galdensia, so we know. Most folks there say that Richard Hamilton was framed. The Hamilton General Store still enjoys a good reputation, they say.”
This was troublesome… Allen shook his head. He’d even considered dealing with this gangster organization, hoping their high offer would make it worthwhile.
“I won’t use it, so don’t worry. But in return, lower your price a bit.”
Quick-witted Rafa immediately sensed Allen’s hesitation and tried to renegotiate the price.
“Lower the price…”
Allen fell into thought, fingers interlaced. In truth, as soon as he’d announced the sale of the general stores, newspapers across Galdensia had published articles expressing concern.
Moreover, with the Hamilton name tainted as traitors, all sorts of opportunists had eagerly tried to snatch the stores at rock-bottom prices. That’s why he’d decided to finalize the deal here in Rubec.

One-line summary: The husband I married on a whim had been secretly in love with me for a long time.
On the day when Jun Shao finally obtained the imperial decree for her marriage, Lan Qu, the person she had admired for six years, defied the decree and ran away.
Her gentleness and devotion, her promise of a lifetime together, were all disregarded by him. Instead, he dreamed of entering the palace to serve the Emperor’s sister as a sixth-rank attendant.
News of this incident spread throughout the capital, and the alleys in front of and behind the Lan mansion were crowded with people who came to watch the commotion.
Jun Shao should have been embarrassed and angry.
But someone stepped in to protect her dignity.
The figure was in a miserable state, yet still possessed an undeniable elegance and handsomeness.
The young lord struggled to climb the wall of the Lan mansion and shouted to her, “If he won’t marry you, I will!”
So, Jun Shao took advantage of the situation and married the person.
She thought the young lord did it to save the Lan family from the crime of defying the imperial decree, but never imagined that from beginning to end, what he coveted was her.
*
After the wedding, Jun Shao felt like she was living in a dream.
Her Wife-master was as beautiful as a fairy in a painting, skilled in the six arts, well-versed in poetry and literature, capable of being gentle and attentive, and also grand and dignified. Most importantly, she was the only one in his heart and eyes.
Jun Shao didn’t know how Lan Shiwu, as a illegitimate son without a father and blessed with beauty, had managed to preserve his purity, recklessly escape, and use his last ounce of strength to ruin his own reputation, all because of his love for her, just to stand before her.
She could only see him gazing at her with eyes full of love, and when she bestowed a name upon him, his eyes shone like stars.
“You have come to me like a weary bird perching on a branch. I shall call you A Qi.”

I don’t understand, if she is trying to save the twins, why is she putting a gun to her head? She needs to be alive for the twins to survive.
This is sounding less like a punishment and more like a privilege.
Sometimes this novel’s inability to reflect anything close to realism frustrates me. Let’s reward arson and attempted murder! (Can’t help but point out the lack of creativity with Mr. Baker’s name.)
