Interest Compounds on Revenge (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 139
Terren’s shout drew everyone’s attention. He gave an awkward laugh and tried to brush it off as if nothing had happened.
“Come with me.”
He wanted to grab Louis by the collar, but with so many eyes watching, he settled for gripping his arm instead.
“Your Grace, can’t we talk right here?”
Louis knew all too well what awaited him if he was dragged away, so he dug in his heels. Terren leaned in and whispered into his ear.
“Do you want to get hit right here?”
“No, thank you.”
Pale-faced, Louis was dragged off by Terren in a stiff, awkward stance.
Lea fretted anxiously, worried someone might witness the scene.
She kept scanning the surroundings until her eyes met Countess Valiere’s head-on.
“Damn it!”
Just as she feared, Countess Valiere approached her with a stern expression.
Though they weren’t close enough to have been invited to Chainer’s wedding, Louis’s presence made it impossible to exclude her.
“My lady, isn’t this going too far?”
The Countess kept her voice as low as possible.

Male lead is a Love-Obsessed Merman
When he discovers she has gone, he risks everything to pursue her on land, enduring agonizing pain to transform his tail into human legs…

One-line summary: Male lead chases female lead. The male lead’s love is a bit sick, an invincible love brain.
Synopsis
During a voyage at sea, Jiang Yang accidentally captures a merman.
Servant: I heard that mermen are fierce and brutal.
Jiang Yang looks at the merman obediently rubbing her palm like a puppy: “You call this fierce and brutal?”
Servant: I heard that mermen have no human nature.
Jiang Yang looks at the merman with wet puppy eyes, obsessively calling her ‘A Yang’ like a childish infant: “You call this having no human nature?”
With great difficulty, she releases the merman back into the sea and returns to shore.
Who would have thought that in less than half a month, the merman, who should have been freely wandering in the South China Sea, would shed his scales, endure the pain of losing his tail, transform into human legs, and come ashore to find her?
He kneels at her feet, rubbing her palm, with merman tears rolling down: “A Yang, don’t abandon me.”

I don’t understand, if she is trying to save the twins, why is she putting a gun to her head? She needs to be alive for the twins to survive.
This is sounding less like a punishment and more like a privilege.
Sometimes this novel’s inability to reflect anything close to realism frustrates me. Let’s reward arson and attempted murder! (Can’t help but point out the lack of creativity with Mr. Baker’s name.)
