Interest Compounds on Revenge (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 109
Terren arrived at the general store later than scheduled, his heart impatient.
“Grace!”
He called her name as he pushed open the door and entered, but inside the store there was only a single clerk attending to a few customers.
“Where is everyone?”
“The old man went to the market looking for Miss Grace.”
“The market?”
The sun had already set—why would anyone go to the market now? Terren hurriedly climbed into his carriage.
“To the market.”
At his command, the carriage raced toward the market. By now, all the merchants should have packed up and left.
Something had gone terribly wrong.
Given that even Old Man Rafa had rushed to the market, Grace must not have returned home yet.

Terren stopped the carriage and let Rafa get in.
“Where’s Grace?”
“It seems Miss Grace was in an accident. We must quickly report this to the Police Chief!”

I don’t understand, if she is trying to save the twins, why is she putting a gun to her head? She needs to be alive for the twins to survive.
This is sounding less like a punishment and more like a privilege.
Sometimes this novel’s inability to reflect anything close to realism frustrates me. Let’s reward arson and attempted murder! (Can’t help but point out the lack of creativity with Mr. Baker’s name.)
