The funeral of Leah Hamilton was scheduled to take place in Lebon, the capital of Rubeck, in its largest church.
Leah arrived at the church two hours before the ceremony began.
It was a bit of a struggle to dodge Polin outside the church, as she couldn’t let anyone see her grief.
‘Don’t tremble, face the reality.’
Leah clasped her hands covered in black lace gloves. Was there anyone else in the world who had become another person and was witnessing their own funeral?
It felt as if an earthquake was starting from her toes, a subtle tremor climbing up her body, a sure sign of the impending overwhelming spectacle of despair.
‘Be strong. You’re still alive.’
Leah continuously encouraged herself, as if reciting a spell. Finally, she steeled herself and entered the church without further hesitation.
The church looked like any other place of worship. Majestic and holy with a large cross, and multicolored lights pouring in through the stained-glass windows.
But all Leah could see was her own coffin lying in front of her.

Leah walked straight towards the coffin without stopping. The reality that she finally faced.
“Oh, God!”
Although she was a person who believed more in science than God, seeing her own body made her involuntarily seek divine intervention.
The coffin, full of white lilies, held her twenty-year-old self, resting in peace.
‘How can it be this tragic?’
The body was so badly damaged it was unrecognizable. Leah couldn’t even muster a sad expression; she just silently shed tears.
‘I’m sorry, I killed you, Leah Hamilton.’
The price of loving a man had been cruel.
“I promise, I’ll bring Allen to the gates of hell. Just there.”
Humans tremble in extreme fear right before entering the gates of hell. She planned to make Allen experience that torturous pain.

“I’ll gladly become Allen McDowell’s hell.”
Leah wiped her tears with her hand. It was too early to cry out loud. She couldn’t let the makeup she took so much care to apply be ruined.
“When this is over, I’ll follow you soon. Farewell, Leah Hamilton.”
Leah bid herself a composed goodbye.
Then she examined the corpse. She had to find the necklace her father had given her. But it was nowhere to be found.
‘Why isn’t it here? Was it lost?’
Just then, an elderly priest appeared in the church, likely the bishop in charge of the funeral.
“Bishop, were there any personal belongings with the body?”
Leah asked directly.
“Ah, the belongings found with the body were taken care of by the people from the Kurtua Ducal House. They need to be passed on to the family.”

‘The Duke of Kurtua?’
The situation had become complicated.
Soon it was time to start the funeral. Although there was someone to play the funeral march, Leah was the only mourner.
“Are there no more mourners?”
Even the bishop seemed puzzled, looking around the empty chapel.
“I alone am enough.”
“Really?”
“Please start the funeral.”
“Very well.”
The bishop, having glanced around the chapel one last time and seeing no other mourners, agreed to proceed.
‘I know it, Allen McDowell will definitely come.’
Leah folded her hands and prayed.
Hoping for Allen to come…
Finally, the bishop leading the funeral prayed for the poor soul of young Leah who had departed from this world too soon.
As the bishop’s fervent prayer reached its climax, Leah’s anticipation was confirmed by a noise at the door.
Finally, he had arrived.
“Leah!”
His voice was agitated, yet his footsteps were calm.
The bishop paused his prayer and looked towards the door, but Leah continued praying, undisturbed, knowing all too well who had arrived.
“Who might you be?”
The bishop asked politely, but his voice carried a hint of discomfort towards the stranger who didn’t observe the decorum expected of mourners.

One should quietly take a seat and watch the funeral, after all.
Leah adjusted her black veil and stood up, preparing to face him.
And then, she saw him.
A man with shining blond hair and striking features.
Her own mistaken choice, marred by unforgivable sins.
“Allen McDowell?”
“Yes, I am Allen McDowell, but who are you?”
“Grace Bizac.”
She could almost hear his mind whirring.
Who is this woman?

Leah didn’t have such a friend.
Allen, who knew everything Leah liked or disliked, even what jewelry and dresses she wore on specific days, was now perplexed.
“How did you know Leah? Were you friends?”
“Friends… No.”
“Then who might you be?”
“I had a longstanding connection between my family and the Hamilton trading house, so I couldn’t help but come.”
“Oh, I see. Thank you.”
Relief washed over Allen’s face.
Leah nodded slightly, expressing her condolences.
Allen, stumbling a bit, moved towards the coffin.

“Leah.”
He lifted the thin cloth covering the body.
His shaking hands contrasted with his eyes, filled with a desperate need for confirmation.
The last check needed on his path to becoming the new master of the Hamilton trading house.
“How could this happen…!”
The body in the wedding dress was unmistakably Leah Hamilton.

Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
