I locked eyes with the unfamiliar woman and watched as she set a tray down on the nightstand beside the bed. I’d always imagined heaven to be something extraordinary, yet she looked no different from an ordinary person.

‘But somehow, she feels familiar.’

Her clothing was exotic yet oddly recognizable.

“I was worried because you wouldn’t wake up.”

When I just kept staring silently, the woman smiled gently and spoke. Now that I noticed, she was speaking the kingdom’s language, but her pronunciation sounded slightly awkward.

“So there are foreigners even in heaven, huh?”

“…Yes?”

When I muttered this, the woman tilted her head with a bewildered expression, then quickly nodded as if she understood. She replied with a look of pity in her eyes.

“It’s only been a few days since you regained consciousness, so confusion is natural. Oh—aren’t you thirsty?”

Her tone was almost as if she expected me to drink cold water and snap out of it. From her compassionate expression, I realized this place wasn’t anything like heaven.

‘Could it be… I’m actually alive?’

Blinking in surprise, I took the glass of water she offered me.

I’d jumped off the cliff hoping for a miracle, but never truly believed I’d survive.

Besides, falling from such a height and ending up completely unscathed—without even a scratch—was that even possible?
