As I pleaded with drooping eyebrows, Shanna, standing behind Floria, clicked her tongue in evident disgust. It was an odd expression for someone who knew better than anyone that the red gem Floria was idly rolling between her fingers was fake.

Floria, who had been staring intently at me, set down the necklace and gave a gentle smile. Then, softly brushing my cheek, she coaxed,

“Older sister, you’re not entertaining any foolish thoughts, are you?”

“Please believe in my loyalty, Your Highness. Besides, with my heart in your hands, how could I possibly harbor other intentions?”

“Alright. After all, if a younger sister can’t trust her elder sister, who can?”

Floria smiled sweetly, as if she were the perfect younger sister. It was astonishing how she could maintain such shameless composure before someone who had already revealed her true colors.

“It wasn’t intentional, so let’s leave this matter here.”

I’d expected her to lose her temper and lash out after such a severe stain on her social reputation, yet Floria refused to dwell on the incident any further.

‘Why is she acting like this?’
