In the Midst of Revenge on Cinderella (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 37
As always, Gavis, drunk on alcohol, was waiting for his servant to come pick him up.
“How dare that shameless wretch treat me like that?”
Ever since meeting Reneola Violet earlier that day, his anger simply wouldn’t subside.
He had even been willing to marry a mere maid just to strengthen his connection with the Second Prince’s Consort.
A woman with a terrible reputation and a family that was nominally a count’s house but utterly insignificant—yet she dared to act so shamelessly, gallivanting around with men.
“Filthy wretch. Just wait until we’re married. I’ll straighten out that insolent attitude of hers.”
Gavis licked his lips with his tongue, recalling Reneola’s rather shapely figure.
The thought that he could wield her as he pleased once married made his body feel heavy with anticipation. Though she strutted about so arrogantly now, soon she’d be clinging to his legs, sobbing and begging.
“Guess I’ll have to settle for Laura tonight. No, better yet—Marilyn.”
Just as he was mentally sorting through his mistresses, his collar was suddenly yanked from behind.
“Huh!”
Before he could even grasp what was happening, he was dragged off somewhere in an instant. Tossed into a dark alleyway, Gavis looked up dazedly. Someone whose face was obscured by shadows kicked him squarely in the stomach.
“Ugh!”
Though it felt like a light kick, his breath was instantly knocked out of him. As he gasped and coughed violently, a man knelt before him and tilted his head.
Though Gavis couldn’t clearly see his face—thanks to the darkness and his drunken state—he could distinctly feel an overwhelming, oppressive aura. Shaking uncontrollably from instinctive fear, Gavis trembled.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
