Considering his temperamental nature, it was entirely possible. As I prostrated myself on the floor, I heard Cinderella pleading with the prince.

“Please stop, Your Highness.”

“But she tormented you all your life.”

“I’ve told you several times that my sister didn’t do it on purpose.”

“You are too soft-hearted, my lady.”

You’re the one who lacks discernment. I inwardly shook my head at Prince Eric, who failed to see the underlying intentions in Floria’s words.

“People don’t change easily. I still don’t approve of having such a person by your side.”

“Enough, please. You promised not to do this.”

“But when I see her face, anger just boils up…”

“Your Highness.”

At Floria’s glance, the prince reluctantly sighed.

“Your Highness, I’d like to talk quietly with my sister. Could you please leave us alone?”

“That’s not possible. What if she harms you? It’s too dangerous.”

“I’ll be with Shanna, don’t worry.”

Even after thoroughly searching me upon entering the palace, Prince Eric didn’t let his guard down, treating me as if I were an assassin. However, he eventually retreated, unable to withstand Floria’s repeated requests.

“Reneola Violet.”

“Yes, Your Highness.”

“Floria is no longer just your sister, but my fiancee and the future princess of the Hilik Kingdom. Remember that.”

“Yes.”

“You must serve the lady faithfully from now on. I will be watching.”

“I understand.”

After a while of threatening me, Prince Eric finally left the room with all the courtiers. Left with Floria, Shanna, and the two doves, I swallowed the tension that had built up.

‘Is this just the beginning?’

As I braced myself, Floria helped me to my feet.

“Please get up, sister.”

Confused by her unchanged demeanor despite everyone having left, I wondered why she was acting this way. My hand still felt sore from being gripped.

“Oh, your dress is dirty.”

“I will take care of it, Lady Floria.”

Despite Shanna’s objections, Floria dusted off my dress.

“You must be upset, right? Please understand. I think His Highness has some misunderstandings about our family. Despite my explanations, it’s of no use.”

Of course, the Violet family hadn’t done anything commendable. However, the mastermind behind the downfall of the Violet Earldom acting innocent and kind made me momentarily understand the feelings of the Countess.
“Still, there was no need for you to kneel like that. Please don’t do it again in the future, understood?”

“Let’s sit down and talk.” Floria gently held my hand and led me to the table, instructing Shanna.

“Please prepare some tea to ease the fatigue. The long carriage ride must have been exhausting.”

“Yes, Lady Floria.”

Shanna, bowing respectfully, began to brew the tea she had prepared in advance.

“How is everyone in the family doing? I’ve been worried because I left abruptly without a proper goodbye.”

She’s asking about the family’s well-being, which she likely already knows.

‘Seems like she’s pretending not to know about the rumor that Prince Eric is avenging her by dealing with the Violet family.’

Though she looked sincere, if she truly cared about the family’s welfare, she could have sent a letter. I understood Floria’s intentions.

‘She wants something from me.’

It seemed she thought it better to gently manipulate rather than reveal her true intentions. The original Reneola would react defiantly if pushed too hard, so Floria’s judgment was quite accurate. I sighed with relief internally.

‘Thankfully, at least she won’t harass me openly.’

“I haven’t fully adapted to the unfamiliar environment yet, but I am grateful for your kindness, Lady Floria.”

That should be a satisfactory response, subtly indicating that the family is struggling and their fate lies in her hands.

Was my thought correct? I saw the corners of her lips slightly rise behind the teacup. Just as I was about to take a sip,

“But…”

Floria put down her teacup and looked intently at me.

“You seem to have changed a bit.”

“What…?”

I almost choked on dry saliva. Forcing back a cough, I widened my eyes.

‘She’s so perceptive!’

I felt Shanna, standing behind Floria, quietly scrutinizing me.

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
