“Making a polite greeting once.”

Karl tilted his head and looked up at me.

For some reason, I felt a bit awkward avoiding his gaze, and he reached out to me.

He lightly embraced my waist and then gently lowered me to the floor. The feeling of being held around my waist was strange, so I quickly stepped back.

“Well, what, what is it? What if you suddenly grab my waist like that?”

“You seemed like you couldn’t stand properly on both legs.”

“Huh?”

What’s wrong with this guy? Even though Karl usually had a sarcastic tone and only picked on irritating things, today he was particularly sharp.

“Do you have something bothering you?”

“No.”
I see. He looks displeased for some reason.

‘Why did he come all the way here to vent his anger on me?’

Turning away with a dissatisfied expression, he pulled something out. It was a small envelope.

“What’s this?”

“What you requested.”

“You already figured it out?”

Several days had passed, and he had already completed the request. Thinking that he had more capability than expected, I briskly grabbed the envelope he held out to me. No, I tried to. Karl quickly withdrew it before I could.

“What are you doing?”

“Just handing it over because it’s annoying.”

Annoying? What nonsense is that?

Seeing my bewildered expression, Karl raised his eyebrows once again, shaking the envelope.

“Hey, you. I told you with your own mouth that I made the request. Hand it over here.”

“I don’t want to.”

“Why not!”

“I’m not in the mood for it.”

A dry laugh escaped me at his blunt tone.

Do you perform requests based on your mood?

“Hand it over right away.”

“Try snatching it skillfully.”

“I said hand it over!”

“Give it to me!”

Hand over my life, you rascal!

As I reached out to grab the envelope, Karl raised his arm swiftly.

With such a height difference, holding his arm like that made it impossible to grab it.

But I couldn’t just give up. Feeling my pride hurt, I tried desperately to snatch the envelope. I tried running and even jumping, but it was all in vain.

‘How about a good punch to the back of the head?’

I thought about it later and decided that for now, it would be refreshing to give this annoying guy a good hit. Squinting my eyes slightly and glaring at his chest, Karl laughed softly.

“Do you understand what I’m thinking? Do you think I’ll just stand here and let you hit me?”

Karl’s tone had become as sarcastic as usual. Looking at his face, his expression had relaxed.

‘What the heck.’

I couldn’t fathom why this guy was being so capricious. Just then, a small voice interjected.

“Um…”

Turning my head, I saw Matthias holding a few books in his arms, looking at us. I quickly moved away from Karl. When did we get so close?

“I didn’t know you two were so close.”

Matthias glanced at me. I remembered answering last time that we had only met a few times.

“Oh, well…”

“We’re quite intimate.”

Karl replied first, looking down at me. Giving a meaningful look, he smiled broadly.

“We’ve shared secrets. Isn’t that right?”

It was a correct statement, so I couldn’t refute it, but the nuance felt strange. After silently watching us for a moment, Matthias turned his head to me.

“Lady Raneolla, I brought what I mentioned earlier. Would you like to see it together?”

He pointed to the book he was holding.

“I don’t know what that is, but this seems more urgent.”

Karl shook the envelope. When I tried to grab it, he skillfully avoided me.

“If you don’t take it right now, I’ll get rid of it.”

“What? That’s an absurd thing to say.”
This is a request I made, for sure! Seeing me with an expression of protest, Karl raised an eyebrow.

“It’s my heart.”

He chuckled with an impudent attitude, then gestured for me to follow him.

“Oh, come on…”

It was so absurd that my forehead started to throb.

“Lady Raneolla.”

Matthias approached me. He seemed anxious, perhaps thinking that I might follow Karl. Although our promise was with him first, there was nothing I could do.

“I’m sorry, Lord Matthias. I’ll be back later.”

At my words, Matthias couldn’t hide his disappointed expression.
