During the argument, Karl suddenly took off the bracelet from his wrist and tossed it. I caught it instinctively and realized my mistake.

“Always wear it on your wrist. That purple gem needs to be touched by human warmth, otherwise, it’ll lose its color.”

“Don’t talk nonsense. There’s no such gem.”

“It’s enchanted. Well, it doesn’t matter if you don’t wear it, but if the gem loses its light, it loses its value, and there goes your advance and deposit.”

As soon as Karl finished speaking, I slipped the bracelet onto my right wrist. The loose band adjusted to fit my wrist, indicating it wasn’t an ordinary bracelet. Great, why am I stuck with such a cumbersome thing?

However, considering he might use this as an excuse not to pay me back, I decided to keep it for now.

“What kind of magic is on it?”

I asked, feeling uneasy about possibly having some strange curse on it. The man just smiled meaningfully.

“Don’t worry, it won’t harm you.”

How can I not worry, being stuck with a bracelet of unknown magic from this unhelpful man!

Despite my glaring, Karl just grinned.

Kahilrun smiled slightly, watching Renéola fiddle with the bracelet and grumble. She was always transparent about her thoughts. But,

‘She wouldn’t actually like this style, would she?’

The flashy red dress and blindingly sparkling accessories were one thing, but the messily done hair and mismatched makeup were something else. If someone had helped her dress up and it wasn’t to her taste, she must be quite unpopular.

‘Figures.’

The famous sister of Floria Violet of the Violet family. Given the family’s notoriety, it was clear what kind of treatment she would be receiving in the prince’s palace.

Kahilrun lowered his gaze, recalling the woman who was soon to become his sister-in-law. In stark contrast to Renéola, Floria’s simple attire and carefully done light makeup seemed ‘innocent’. His lips curled into a small smile.

“So, when exactly is ‘soon’? Don’t think you can just get away with fobbing off something like this on me.”

Renéola waved her wrist with the bracelet, asking. Kahilrun looked slightly wronged.

“Calling this just ‘something’ is a bit harsh. It’s quite valuable.”

Besides its own worth, the bracelet contained energy from a sword master like him, along with various high-level enchantments. It was a rare item, impossible to acquire even if you tried.

But the woman, skeptically squinting her eyes, wouldn’t believe a word of it.

‘Truth be told, I can’t even say the whole truth.’

Kahilrun raised his hands in a mock surrender.

“You’re scaring me with that look.”

As her gaze intensified, Kahilrun smiled.

“Don’t worry about the money. I’ll pay it back with interest once this job is done.”

“When will that be?”

“Why are you so fixated on the date? Do you have urgent need for money?”

“Well, you never know when you might have to leave…”

Renéola reflexively responded but then quickly covered her mouth. However, the important words were already out, and Kahilrun’s eyes narrowed.

“Planning to leave?”

“No, I meant, what if I have to? You know, people’s circumstances can change. Besides, you’re the one who should be paying back, why am I being questioned?”

Kahilrun’s eyes focused sharply on her response to the notion of leaving.
Suddenly acting as if she’s drunk, Renéola became even more brazen, which Kahilrun, familiar with her behavior, observed with a slanted head. Fidgeting under his gaze, Renéola habitually brushed her hair back.

“Ah!”

It seemed the bracelet got entangled in her hair ornament. Despite her struggles to untangle it with her other hand, it was no use. Lifting her eyes, she found Kahilrun covering his mouth with his fist, trying not to laugh.

“Stop laughing and help me.”

“……Asking for help so earnestly, are you?”

Kahilrun teased, then stood up and approached Renéola from behind to start untangling the mess of the bracelet and her hair ornament. Renéola, who had been standing stiffly, relaxed under his unexpectedly delicate touch and entrusted her hair to him.

“Do you like this kind of accessory? It’s unique.”

“……Please respect my taste.”

“But how do you untangle this thing?”

Despite his delicate touch, untangling the hair ornament proved challenging.

Kahilrun furrowed his brow and leaned in closer, concentrating. After several unsuccessful attempts, he finally began to loosen the hair. A satisfied smile spread across his face as he noticed the scent emanating from her hair.

“Is it still far from being untangled?”

“It’s done.”

Slowly lifting his eyes, Kahilrun finally freed her hair. The soft, light brown locks slid through his fingers.

“Thank you.”

Renéola sighed and brushed her disheveled hair.

“No problem.”

As Kahilrun stepped back with a smile, Renéola quickly stood up.

“Anyway, I would appreciate it if you returned the money as soon as possible. I’ll be going now.”

Anticipating more conversation, Renéola hurriedly turned her back. She seemed to think she had embarrassed herself again. Kahilrun spoke leisurely to her retreating back.

Ex-husband Wants Reconciliation

One-line summary: Chasing the wife to the crematorium (making an effort to attract someone who has become indifferent), the female lead doesn’t look back, the second male lead takes the position.

Intro:

To repay the kindness of the older generation, Su Mu crossed into a female-dominated world and became a live-in daughter-in-law of the Yan family, single-handedly saving the Yan family from fire and water.

But her husband, Yan Jiyue, the eldest son of the Yan family, treated her with sarcasm and never showed her a good face.

It wasn’t until after Su Mu’s death that this pampered and arrogant young master shed a few fake tears and pretended to want to die for love.

This life’s kindness was enough. If there was a next life, she would definitely kick Yan Jiyue away.

Who knew that the heavens would be so kind as to allow her to be reborn, returning to the time when she had just married into the Yan family.

Su Mu glanced at the Yan eldest son, who still spoke coldly to her, and threw a divorce letter in front of him.

“Let’s divorce!”

***

Yan Jiyue never imagined that he would be reborn. He happily went to find Su Mu, wanting to make up for the mistakes he had made in his ignorant youth.

Wasn’t the reason the heavens allowed him to be reborn to let him reconcile with Su Mu?

But when he pushed open the door to Su Mu’s room, the person lying on the bed was another man.

Su Mu’s personal attendant, Xie Yi.

Yan Jiyue hated him so much that his teeth itched. In front of Su Mu, Xie Yi was a gentle and considerate whisperer of sweet nothings, but in reality, he was vicious-hearted and deliberately sabotaged their husband and wife relationship.

In the previous life, it was he who secretly hid in Su Mu’s coffin and committed suicide, stealing a step ahead of him to be buried with Su Mu.

Yan Jiyue’s eyes were filled with hatred as he cursed, “What kind of thing are you? Your background is lowly, what right do you have to occupy Su Mu?”

Xie Yi looked at the sleeping Su Mu and no longer pretended to be a whisperer of sweet nothings.

He proudly stuck out his belly, “I have the right because my belly is capable of giving the Wife-master a daughter.”

***

Yan Jiyue was consumed with jealousy. He spread rumors that Xie Yi had once been branded with the mark of a “harlot” on his chest.

But on the night Xie Yi cut off the flesh bearing that mark, Su Mu suddenly realized something was amiss.

“How did you know the exact moment I was poisoned? And why did you show up a month early?”

Xie Yi remained silent, blood from his wound soaking through his robes. His sapphire eyes brimmed with anguish – or was it just a flawless act?

Between a once-arrogant husband now seeking redemption, and a gentle soul willing to die for her – who truly held the darkest secrets? And could it be that Su Mu and Yan Jiyue weren’t the only ones given a second chance at life…?
