In the original story, the First Prince completely ignored Floria as if she didn’t exist…

‘…What’s happening here?’

Unlike in the original, the First Prince attentively looked down at Floria, who was showing him respect. Tilting his head slightly and staring silently for a long time, Floria remained unable to straighten up because of his gaze.

Only when the Second Prince intervened did the First Prince’s attention shift away. Finally able to stand straight, Floria quickly shot a glare at the First Prince and then hastily hid her expression.

‘Why is it different from the original?’

While I was tilting my head in confusion, I flinched. I had inadvertently caught the First Prince’s attention. Although his face was hidden behind a mask, it was clear he was looking in my direction.

‘What now?’

I discreetly backed away, hiding behind a column in the hall.

‘Has he recognized me as Floria’s sister already?’

Darn, I tried to keep a low profile as much as possible.

Considering my conspicuous red dress, it was no surprise I stood out. I cautiously peeked out from behind the column, then quickly hid again.

‘Why is he still looking this way?’

Even as the King spoke to him, the First Prince maintained the same posture, staring in my direction. I was sure I had been marked.

‘No point hiding. Sooner or later, he’s bound to find out I’m Floria’s sister while I’m here.’

Whether he recognizes me now or later, it’s all the same. Peeking out again, I saw the First Prince engaged in conversation with the King, his back to me. I sighed in relief and stepped out from behind the column, tilting my champagne glass in an attempt to calm my nerves.

“Wait, have I experienced something like this before?”

I shook off the image of Karl’s smug face floating in my mind. With all the turmoil, I needed to focus on the positives.

As night fell, the party grew more lively. The once vibrant music deepened in tone, and couples lightly invited each other to dance, gradually filling the floor.

Among the joyous couples, Floria and Prince Eric stood out conspicuously. Centered on the dance floor, their movements illuminated Floria’s dazzlingly white dress under the spotlight, garnering admiration and envy from everyone. Floria seemed like the star of the evening.

This was especially so since the First Prince, who should have been the highlight of the event, stood aloof at one side, his arms crossed, with no intention of dancing. His stern posture conveyed a clear message of disinterest.

While some ladies threw admiring glances at him, the First Prince remained unresponsive as if blind to everything around him.

And I, too, stood idly in the hall, albeit half by choice, half by circumstance. I never intended to dance, but no one had asked me either.

Fortunately, since our earlier encounter, the First Prince hadn’t paid me any more attention. My mind was preoccupied with figuring out when to pretend to be drunk. Having already consumed five or six glasses of champagne, it wouldn’t be strange to appear intoxicated.

‘Huh?’

Scanning the hall, I spotted an unwelcome face.

‘Damn, why is that crazy pervert looking at me?’

Gabis Palon was sipping wine while staring at me. His smirk was deeply irritating. As our eyes met, Gabis put down his glass and began to approach.

‘Time to run!’
I pretended not to notice and swiftly exited the banquet hall. Fearing Gabis would follow if I escaped to the terrace, I rushed straight to the rear garden and hid. Thankfully, no one seemed to be following me. It was then that I finally managed to catch my breath.

Unlike the magically cooled hall, the garden was stuffy. Sitting at an outdoor table and facing the warm breeze, resentment towards Floria bubbled up within me.

“That darn Floria. Why would she stick me with that perverted guy? She’s so vicious and heartless. I hope she falls while dancing!”

“Criticizing the Princess Consort as vicious and heartless.”

Startled by the unexpected voice, I froze. I was sure I was alone in the garden. Realizing the familiarity of the voice, I looked up and frowned.

‘Why is this man here again?’

“Why are you here?”

“Isn’t it normal for a servant to be in the palace?”

Karl shrugged his shoulders. Now that I noticed, he was wearing a servant’s uniform. He seemed to switch roles frequently, from guild leader to servant and back.

“Please continue on your way.”

I waved him off, not wanting to get entangled further. Yet, Karl nonchalantly smiled and took a seat opposite me.

‘He really does resemble the First Prince in stature.’

It’s not common to see such a build.

“You seemed drunk, but you’re actually sober.”

Karl observed me curiously, seemingly surprised. How did he know about my supposed intoxication?

“Of course, I’m not drunk at all.”

“So you dared to insult the Princess Consort while sober?”

Coughing, I was caught off guard. Karl calmly patted my back as I coughed.

“Would’ve overlooked it if you were drunk, but insulting royalty soberly might be a case of lese-majesty.”

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
