Why is this man here?

I stared in disbelief at his smirking face.

‘Wasn’t he a servant?’

Why would Floria’s fervent follower be here… and as the guild master?

Flustered, I quickly composed myself. Showing panic here would be tantamount to admitting recognition. I was perfectly disguised, so there was no way he could recognize me…

“Meeting again, I see.”

I rolled my eyes, feigning ignorance.

“What do you mean… Have we met before?”

“Hmm.”

As I evaded with a changed voice, the man looked me up and down, chuckling amusedly.

“Where did you get that drab wig?”

Drab? My black hair is beautiful!

As a Korean in my past life, I couldn’t just let that comment slide, but this was his territory. Provoking him might get me vanished without a trace, so I chose to ignore it this time.

His expression while observing my attire confirmed my suspicion that no amount of denial would work. He clearly wasn’t planning to play along with my pretense.

“…How did you recognize me?”

“I have a good eye.”

Resigning to my fate, I asked, and he leaned back on the sofa, responding.

‘How did he recognize me, really?’

I glanced at him. Despite my wig and makeup, and a costume unfit for my age, he recognized my perfect disguise at once.

‘Did the guild uncover my identity in the meantime?’

But the distance from the bookstore to this room was barely two minutes. It didn’t make sense that he could find out everything in that time. Unless he had been watching me, which was unlikely. Was it really just his keen observation?

‘Anyway, an irritating man with too many unnecessary traits. So annoying.’

“Already our third encounter.”

Two of those three encounters had already derailed my plans. Despite my displeased look, he remained relaxed.

“In the far east, they say that three coincidences make a fate. Shouldn’t we at least exchange names?”

“You first, since you brought it up.”

Now I was curious about his identity too. Who was he that we kept running into each other like this?

He looked at me thoughtfully before speaking.

“Karl Demon. Call me Karl.”

Karl Demon. A new name to me. Seemingly unconnected to the main story. I had worried he might be a key character I’d forgotten, but his name brought relief.

“You already know my name.”

He had personally come to fetch me under Floria’s orders. I shrugged, and Karl Demon, now known to me, stretched his lips long.

“Still, I’d like to hear it from you. It’s in exchanging names that relationships begin, isn’t it?”

“Lorena Violet.”

What kind of relationship could there be between us? But there was no point in hiding a name he already knew.

Karl leaned deeper into the sofa, crossing his long legs leisurely. As annoying as his mannerisms were, his appearance was undeniably perfect.

“Here for a request?”

Oh, right.

Jolted by his words, I straightened up. I shouldn’t be leisurely admiring his looks when I had come for a serious purpose.

‘Should I ask about Shanna’s magic?’

Considering he came to Honorlo, he was definitely one of Floria’s people. But now, being the master of this guild, it was confusing.

If Floria finds out I inquired about the magic, what then? Imagining her previously gentle face turning venomous, I shook my head inwardly.
Even if he’s associated with the First Prince, that’s a problem. They might exploit my weakness to use me as a pawn in a conflict with Floria. That was something I absolutely wanted to avoid.

‘Damn, is there no option to just leave?’

Why did I have to meet this man here of all places? If I suddenly say I don’t intend to make a request now, who knows how his expression might change…

“Hey.”

I was desperately thinking of an excuse to escape when Karl rhythmically tapped his fingers.

“Aren’t you listening? I asked what you came to request.”

“Well… weren’t you a servant? Is it okay for you to do this too?”

Unable to think of an excuse, I asked, genuinely curious. Is this man a servant, a guild master, or what? Which one is the real him?

The man stroked his chin with his fingers and grinned.

“In today’s world, who can live by doing just one thing? I work at the palace, then come out to the streets to handle guild business, and sometimes fight to protect the country.”

‘This man, a mercenary too?’

He didn’t look impoverished, so why need money? Or maybe, contrary to his sly demeanor, he’s surprisingly diligent. But being a guild master is one thing – can one really balance being a servant and a mercenary? Isn’t he a noble? As I pondered, wrapped in questions, he continued.

“So, what do you want to request?”

He was asking for the third time. His voice dropped a tone, conveying irritation at having to repeat the same question. Still without a ready answer, I hesitated.

Just then, a knock on the door lightened the mood. I exhaled in relief as the red-haired clerk placed a teacup in front of me.

“This is tea imported from the East.”

Pondering the tea that matched his hair color, I lifted the steaming cup. But before I could take a sip, I grimaced and spat it out.

‘It’s so sour!’

My Ex-Girlfriend Is The Regent In The Female-dominant World (Male lead transmigrates to the matriarchal world)

Two years ago, Gu Sui picked up a homeless woman in ancient costume from the street.

Apart from occasionally claiming to be a princess from a female-dominant country due to illness, her figure, appearance, intelligence, and martial arts skills were impeccable.

Naturally evolving from roommates to girlfriends, as time went on, Gu Sui found it increasingly difficult to tolerate her queen syndrome.

“Mu Jiulu, can you stop controlling me inside and out? Let’s break up.”

Gu Sui made a breakup call, and since then, he couldn’t find any trace of her.

A year later, Gu Sui, who was planning to move, woke up the next day and found himself in a different place.

“Young Master, today is the day you choose your Wife-master through martial arts competition at Jade Dew Pavilion. Please get up quickly.”

Gu Sui: Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing?

As the only son of a general’s mansion in a female-dominant dynasty, the young empress personally issued a decree allowing Gu Sui to select his Wife-master through martial arts competition. Whoever could defeat him could marry him.

Gu Sui: “……”

He didn’t inherit the original owner’s martial prowess, so anyone could defeat him! And what the hell is a Wife-master?

Forced to come to Jade Dew Pavilion, the densely packed women below made Gu Sui’s agoraphobia act up, and his face was full of resistance.

Until he saw the Regent sitting on the second floor, with a smile on the corner of her lips, her eyes wicked and nonchalant.

Hmm… she looked a little familiar.

It turned out that the Regent also found him a little familiar.

Mu Jiulu fiddled with her bone clasp, her deep gaze locked on the man who was out of place in this world.

“Finally, I found you.”
