The fairies seemed ready to rush at Cahilern. However, instead of showing concern, Cahilern casually inspected the cat, moving it around.

It was a moment to reconfirm Cahilern’s personality that I had momentarily forgotten amid his easygoing attitude towards me.

When I grabbed his arm, Cahilern obediently let go of the cat. However, instead of going to the fairies, the cat, far from proper behavior, rubbed against my legs. Seeing this, Cahilern raised an eyebrow.

Despite its appearance as a cat, I briefly doubted whether there was something deceiving about it.

“Hurry, come this way!”

The Fairy King, behind the child, raised its front paws and hung onto me. In a gesture that seemed to be urging me to hug it again, I quickly embraced it, and it exhaled a satisfied yawn.

The fairies, who had gathered behind the child to take the king away, hesitated when they saw Cahilern, who was blocking their path.

The girl who led us to a small cabin introduced herself as Rain. The child, who still had a sharp gaze, seemed to be Jane.

Even after entering the cabin, the cat, or rather, the Fairy King, wouldn’t leave my side. Rain looked at us with a slightly curious expression.

“Humph, where is the appeal in such rude beings? Come this way, King. If you keep cuddling like that, you’ll smell like a human.”

Although Jane extended her hand, the Fairy King only raised its front paws to cover its ears. Jane pursed her lips, seemingly annoyed.
“We came to ask a favor from the Fairy King.”

Rain gestured with her eyes, silencing Jane’s sarcastic remarks.

“We apologize for causing such a commotion. It’s due to our lack of manners… We sincerely apologize.”

She lightly tapped Cahilern’s forearm with her elbow, and immediately questioning looks were directed at him. I quickly signaled to apologize. Cahilern had an awkward expression, but he apologized willingly.

In response to our apology, Jane seemed somewhat softened. Rain, who comforted her, turned her head.

“Why are you seeking our king?”

“Well, I am currently under the influence of fairy magic.”

“What? We usually don’t use magic on humans… Can you tell us what kind of magic it is?”

When Shanna explained the magic to me, Rain and Jane were astonished. They shook their heads in disbelief, seemingly unable to comprehend.

“We cannot use magic that harms humans. If we did, we would be expelled from the fairy realm.”

“She is called Shanna Sharastira.”

From the exchanged glances between Rain and Jane, I became convinced that they knew Shanna.

“If it’s Shanna, she was indeed a fairy who lived with us.”

I asked what the story was behind Jane’s disgusted expression. With a pained expression that seemed hard to recall, Rain opened her mouth.

“Among our family, there was a fairy named Rin who fell in love with a human. She loved him so much that she would grant him anything he wished. However, she was betrayed. Hurt by the betrayal, Rin chose death. Shanna was Rin’s closest friend.”

According to Rain, after Rin’s death, Shanna, who was furious with the human she had loved, cast a spell on him, ultimately causing his death.

She was expelled from the fairy realm due to that incident, and since then, she developed hatred towards humans. Whenever she recklessly used magic, the Fairy King barely managed to contain her by turning her into an animal form.
