Now that Cahillen was away, it would be nice if I could dig around a little more, but it seemed better to come back when it was bright. As I was about to turn around and leave in a hurry, my shoulder suddenly felt heavy.

“Ah!”

Startled, I screamed and reflexively turned around, swinging my arm. My hands, swung as if cutting through the air, were caught abruptly.

“Oh my. You almost hit me there.”

Coming to my senses at the familiar voice, I looked up. Cahillen, who had grabbed my hands, was looking down at me with a face mixed with laughter.

“You seem to have a habit of throwing your hands around.”

“C-Your Highness?”

Seeing a familiar face, my relieved heart suddenly eased.

“Why are you here, Your Highness… Let go, please.”

Trying to calm my pounding chest, Cahillen, who was still holding my hands, did not let go. Wondering why he was doing this, I noticed the mischievous glint in his eyes.

‘This brat…’
No matter how hard I pulled, Cahillen didn’t budge. His expression seemed to find it amusing, as if challenging me to try again. It wasn’t painful, but being caught in his large hand made me strangely aware.

Cahillen finally released my hand. Due to the recoil, I stumbled backward.

“Eek!”

Simultaneously, Cahillen’s large arm wrapped around my waist. In an instant, I was pulled close, and I looked up at him in surprise. Cahillen grinned with a relaxed expression.

“Thanks to me, you’re alive again.”

“…Yes, thank you.”

I wanted to shout that I wouldn’t have almost fallen backward if he had let go of my hand in the first place, but I could only keep my mouth shut. I had never won against their cheeky faces, even if I tried to refute them.

“But why are you here? Weren’t you supposed to come back tomorrow?”

Taking a few steps back and asking, Cahillen tilted his head.

“Did you forget what I said?”

“What? What did you say?”

I quickly turned my head, not wanting to hear something like ‘You can’t concentrate in front of someone you like?’ as I did yesterday.

“I said I don’t like wandering around late.”

Then, what about the nightly walks and training you’ve been doing so far? As I looked at him with a puzzled expression, Cahillen laughed.

“I worked non-stop and came back quickly. When I didn’t find you in the room, I came to look for you.”

“How did you know I was here?”

“Where you go is obvious. But did you spread honey in this separate building? You seem to be here whenever there’s a chance.”

“Well, I’ve grown attached. But should you wander around here so freely?”

I used to think of Cahillen as Prince 2’s watchdog, so I didn’t find it strange to encounter him in the separate building. But now it was different. Even the queen sends a notice before visiting; otherwise, there could be problems if someone notices.

‘Well, he’s such an independent man.’

“Are you worried about me?”

“No, it’s not that…”

“Yeah, it’s natural to worry about someone you like.”

“…”

As I was about to say something, Cahillen glanced at the separate building and asked.

“Will you not tell me what kind of honey is hidden here?”

“What?”

“What are you looking for right now?”

I flinched at Cahillen’s serious expression as he looked down at me. He seemed to know something.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about…”

I pretended not to know. Then Cahillen nodded, pointing to a pile of dirt.

“You’ve dug up the ground and caught something. Truly shameless.”

I looked at the covered mound of soil and hesitantly asked. It really looked like someone had messed it up.

“Why are you digging the ground in the middle of the night? Is it some strange trick?”

Cahillen approached and tried to comfort me with a subtle smile.

“Tell me. I might be able to help.”

He had a face that seemed to say he could solve everything if I just told him.
Softly curled eyebrows. The corners of the mouth that curved up like a painting. I found myself tightly sealing my budding lips as I gazed at the violet eyes that stared at me gently. I almost succumbed to that appearance and was about to spill everything.

‘I’m easily deceived in an instant like this.’

I secretly observed Cahillen, who showed exceptional talent in captivating people.

In a situation where I couldn’t fully trust him, I couldn’t talk about the origin of the invite queen. What if I spill it all and get easily taken advantage of?

While reminding myself not to let my guard down, I heard Cahillen make a short clicking sound with his tongue, as if saying, “Tsk.”

Who knew that this young gentleman would secretly admire the infamous Seventh Princess?

Short scene 1:

Feng Bai Su looked at the young man crying like a pear blossom in the rain before her, and couldn’t help but doubt her life.

Wasn’t the male lead described as a cold and otherworldly figure in the book?

Then who was this poor little thing crying with swollen red eyes and tear-stained face?

Short scene 2:

Wei Jing Mo stared intently at Feng Bai Su who was about to go out, wanting to say, “Be careful on the road.”

Before he could speak, Feng Bai Su suddenly bent down and bit his cheek.

Her peach blossom eyes were full of disdain: “Tsk! You’re so clingy!”

Wei Jing Mo: “…”

A talented fox spirit female lead with a flirtatious appearance but actually abstinent VS A cold-looking but actually naive and clingy little jealous male lead
