Even though he had spoiled Taehee like a fool, he never failed to follow proper manners.
“Min Taehee, have I ever said that I see you as a man?”
The eyes of the bewildered Taehee, who couldn’t deny it, were filled with confusion.
It would naturally be confusing.
For 13 years, he always pretended to be indifferent to Min Taehee.
He expected her to say, “Are you crazy? Don’t say weird things” or expected her to look serious.
Surprisingly, with a calm expression, Taehee asked again.
“Then, Kang Sajun, when did you start seeing me as a woman?”
It wouldn’t be fun if he easily revealed that.
Sajun hoped that Taehee would gradually recall.

Our long memories, how I treated you back then, how I looked at you with what eyes, and what expression I had.
As I recall each disheveled memory, as these dotted memories accumulate and connect, at some point, it will become visible.
The me who sees you as a woman, the me who, more than anything else, treated you with difficulty, the sincerity I tried to hide somehow.
If the mind that confesses endlessly is not believed, it might be better if Min Taehee realizes it herself.
“Well, when was it.”
Although I haven’t considered the moment I became conscious of Min Taehee as a woman, it’s certain that it’s been quite a while.
The white school uniform top soaked in rain, the skirt end that dried up every time she sat down, the delicate neckline and cute short hair that became more prominent when she tied her hair, and unusually small hands and feet.
Sajun reacted to everything about Min Taehee unintentionally in unintended situations.
He couldn’t dare to look straight at her.
Nevertheless, the gaze kept going, and the heart thumped as if it were malfunctioning. Before meeting Min Taehee, he checked himself in the mirror once more and took another shower.
The Sajun of that time, recalling it now, seemed quite immature.

“Are you kidding? Just tell me. I’m curious.”
“It’s homework; think about it until the weekend.”
With a look that seemed ridiculous, Sajun burst into laughter.
Anticipating Min Taehee recalling our memories throughout the weekend, in other words, anticipating Min Taehee thinking only about me day and night.
“Who assigns such homework?”
“If you don’t want to, just say so. Instead, if you get it right, I’ll give you a reward. You can make a wish.”
Sajun swallowed his bursting laughter and got out of the car.
He opened the passenger door after turning around the bonnet, and Taehee got out with determination.
“Sleep well, Min Taehee.”
Without any response, Min Taehee entered the building alone. Watching her back disappear, Sajun harbored a small desire.

May Min Taehee spend the whole night reminiscing about our memories today.
Frankfurt Airport, Germany.
The late-night flight to Korea took off.
Inside the airplane cutting through the night sky, Jehyun leaned against the backrest, looking out the window comfortably.
Eight years ago, he boarded a flight to Germany in economy class, but now it’s a business class seat.
His journey started as a poor Korean university student in Germany, but now he was heading to Korea as the head of D Corporation Korea.
Truly, it was a successful return to the homeland.
Looking at the dark sky, Jehyun reflected on the busy and intense eight years he had lived.
Upon arriving in Germany, he immediately applied to the car brand D Corporation and got accepted.
Working in the feared Middle East in Dubai for three years, rising to the position of Head of ICT Core Headquarters, and taking charge of Southeast Asia Marketing for another three years.

He rapidly climbed the corporate ladder in a short period and got promoted again this year.
This time, Jehyun had the choice. He wanted to work in Korea rather than at the Stuttgart headquarters in Germany.
His friend and Korean secretary, Dongseok, who had assisted Jehyun for over four years, jumped up at Jehyun’s choice.
“Jehyun, are you crazy? If you go to Korea, you won’t be able to avoid the controversy over emission manipulation issues. So, why did you say you would go to Korea instead of avoiding it altogether? As you know, our company, which raises substantial revenue as an importer without a manufacturing factory, is now expecting social responsibility in Korea.”
Despite being criticized for choosing a rough gravel road over a shortcut, Jehyun’s determination was firm.
He volunteered to take charge of D Korea’s overall business, showing proper leadership on the major issue that became a significant concern and demonstrating a sense of responsibility befitting the title of being the top importer in the Korean market.
However, that was a nominal reason, and the real purpose was separate.
The woman he had never forgotten and missed, who made him what he is now for seven years.
Even though the cabin lights were off, Dongseok spoke to Jehyun, who seemed lost in thought.
“Jehyun, it’s going to take 11 hours to arrive. Rest your eyes a bit. You’ve been pushing yourself all week. Going to Korea will be full of tiredness.”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
