Hyeksuk looked silently at Okhee, who was anxious and uneasy. So, this was the feeling. Enjoying when the other person becomes weak and tormented. That’s why you kept tormenting me as I became weaker and more miserable.
“When I came to see you last time, I told you to take on that name, right? That name and Min Suntae’s name, take them both.”
“…!”
“Now I’m really grateful to you. For taking away such a man.”
“Speak straight. He was my man from the beginning. I knew first, got pregnant first, and he promised me marriage first! Everything he did was for our family. I convinced him, patiently waited, and everything returned to normal.”
You shouldn’t have said that. For both you and me, and for our daughters.
“So, you really have a good temper. How did you tolerate your man behaving that way with another woman? What if he is eventually taken away?”
Okhee chuckled.
“Because I trust him. That man, he’s only for me.”
Indeed, how much would you trust that man? And how would that man respond to your trust?
Time passed, the world changed, and people changed, just like Hyeksuk herself.

“Is it that you’re not capable?”
At Okhee’s calm question, she flinched.
“It’s because you love him, you can’t let go.”
“Don’t talk nonsense. He loves me.”
It sounded like she was saying it to herself rather than Hyeksuk.
Watching that scene, Hyeksuk let out a quiet sigh.
“Our daughter is pregnant with Sajun’s child. The date for the formal proposal has been set, and if we dispose of this house, I’ll leave without any regrets.”
“Really? You’re not lying, right?”
“If I’m lying, what are you going to do?”
Asked calmly by Hyeksuk, Okhee became silent like a bee that had just eaten honey.

“When I contact you next weekend, come to our house. I’ll let you hear that person’s response to your trust and love.”
“Do you think I’ll come?”
Looking at the enraged Okhee, Hyeksuk smiled gently.
Even if she said so, Hyeksuk knew Okhee would come.
When Sajun returned after drinking, Taehee was driving.
Even when Sajun couldn’t drive, he didn’t interfere much. If he took a wrong turn, she just told him how to get back on track.
However, even when Taehee drove skillfully, it was the same. Sajun just looked at her silently with gentle eyes.
That was Gang Sajun. A reliable ally who quietly stayed by her side, whether he was good or bad, did something or did nothing.
Yet, he added compliments if she praised him.
When Taehee arrived at the hotel and opened the door, she turned to Sajun and asked, “Am I not good at driving anymore?”

“Yeah, you’re good.”
Sajun smiled faintly with a gentle look and patted her head.
This look was good, and this smile was good.
Wrapping her hand around Sajun’s cheek, she pulled him closer and impulsively kissed him on the lips.
Just because she wanted to.
Looking at his half-closed eyes, Taehee whispered.
You did well today too; it was touching.
“If it’s so touching, give me another kiss.”
Looking at her with narrowed eyes, when their faces got close, Taehee’s heart pounded.
No matter how you look at it, this face is cheating.

Thinking that, with her eyes closed, Taehee gently kissed Sajun’s lips.
Maybe he had sake. From the breath that mingled, it seemed to have a soft taste of alcohol. Thinking that, Taehee embraced Sajun’s neck.
Just by opening one door and entering, a few steps forward would lead to the living room with a sofa. While leaning on the door, the two were busy finding each other’s lips.
How long could it have been?
The cellphone in Sajun’s pocket rang.
Unlike Sajun, who didn’t care, Taehee was bothered by the ringtone.
Avoiding persistently probing lips, Taehee stepped back and spoke to Sajun.
“Answer the phone first.”
“You don’t have to.”
Staring at Taehee with hazy eyes, as if possessed by something, Sajun lowered his face again.
Though incredibly seductive, Taehee used her hand to block the approaching lips.

Only reluctantly, Sajun answered the phone and glanced at Taehee.
“Song Jehyun came to see me.”
“Wow. How did you know I was here?”
Why is he pursuing me like a stalker?
While thinking this, Sajun lightly flicked Taehee’s forehead with his thumb and index finger, laughing.
“He has something to discuss with me, but how should I handle it?”
“Why are you asking me?”
“Because I’m going to do as you say.”
Thinking about how absurd it was to seek opinions on this matter, Sajun said.
“As long as you’re okay with it, I’m thinking of asking him to come up.”

“Up here?”
“I’m too lazy to go down.”
Taehee was honestly a little surprised. Inviting Jehyun to a place where not even Jinwon could enter.
“Do as you wish.”
“I’ll do that.”
After instructing the hotel staff to send Jehyun up in five minutes, Sajun hung up the phone.
Leaving the cool living room, Sajun went out to the terrace with Jehyun.
The terrace was perfect; it was a place where they wouldn’t be out of Taehee’s sight, but their conversation wouldn’t be heard.
A few days ago, Jehyun called Sajun.
Jehyun, who couldn’t even win against Taehee, who was less competitive than ever, caused a commotion by calling and said he had no choice but to reveal what happened during their university days.

Since Sajun liked our daughter this much, he wanted Taehee to give up.
Hearing that, Sajun thought Jehyun might come, so he wasn’t particularly surprised.
“I’ll give you five minutes to say what you need to say.”
Under the red sun, Jehyun turned away, his face stained with anger.
“Seven years ago, why didn’t you come to me directly and instead gave me money through Minsuntae?”
Trying to control his emotions and speak as calmly as possible, it was evident that he was trying to convey calmness.
Taehee wanted to shatter that calmness in front of Minsuntae.
Because that way, they could cleanly eliminate any remaining emotions between them.
“Why ask me? Do as you please.”
“Then I’ll call him.”

After Jehyun told the hotel staff to send him up in five minutes, he hung up the phone.
If I had known that the money came from this kid’s pocket, I would never have accepted it, and I wouldn’t have broken up with Taehee either.
So, everything was because of this kid.
Anger boiled throughout my body, and Sajun seemed to enjoy it even more.
Casual and shameless, he guessed why he came.
“So, did you come to thank me for taking my money and succeeding?”
“You bastard.”
When Jehyun mumbled a curse, Sajun chuckled.
“I thought you only didn’t know gratitude, but you also lack manners.”
Ridiculed by that smile, Jehyun’s rationality snapped.
Unable to control his anger, Jehyun rushed at Sajun and threw a punch.

Of course, Jehyun didn’t know.
That the punch he threw looked like slow motion to Sajun. That it could be easily avoided, and yet it left a mark.
But Sajun willingly offered his face to that punch.
Thud. His head turned slightly to the side.
This level of pain was nothing, but as Sajun slowly licked his lower lip with his tongue, a bitter taste of blood spread.
“You can hit, but it’s weak.”
Whether Jehyun muttered something grumblingly or not, Sajun gently pressed his temple, thinking.
Why hasn’t Mintaehee rushed out?
But after receiving a punch, Jehyun seemed to be pleased and threw another punch.
Whether intentionally taking it or having an absurd misconception that Sajun couldn’t avoid his punch.

Sajun lightly grabbed the flying fist with his hand.
With their eyes locked at close range, Sajun sternly said.
“If you intentionally took a hit, ease up a bit.”
Trying to pull out the caught fist, Sajun didn’t let go, and Jehyun, with a reddish-blue face, raised his other hand and clenched his fist.
If he didn’t wear glasses, it would have been a justified hit in self-defense. That regretful thought crossed their minds.
“Stop it, both of you.”
Haiton’s voice from behind sharply pierced between the two men.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
