“I tried not to swear in front of my parents unless necessary, but I can’t stand it. How dare this dirty bastard intervene, saying he’ll take over the management? Can’t you see? You’re going to live like a mouse, quietly. Now you suddenly think you’re something just because you can’t understand and you’re greedy for Seomun!”
Sajun, who had been like an emotionless statue since childhood, was expected to be the same this time.
“I thought so this time too.”
“If you think you’re crazy, at least try. This is not even crazy and doesn’t even make an effort. So, it fails in every company it joins, turning it into a deficit in the shortest possible time, and gradually demoted. It seems it might even expand to Southeast Asia soon.”
Yehee’s face brightened at Sajun’s calmly spilled words.
But Sajun’s words didn’t end there.
“If your abilities fall short, at least choose a proper husband. You’ve been fooling around in strange places, and your judgment of men is pathetic. President Kang Yehee of Seomun Foundation, do you have something to say?”
There was naturally nothing to say since every detail was accurate.
However, even though she wasn’t scolded, Yehee felt irritated at being treated so gracefully and looked at Yeonhwa with eyes that seemed on the verge of tears.
“Mom! Did you hear what he said to me? Say something!”
Yeonhwa, who had always been on Yehee’s side, remained silent this time and closed her eyes tightly.

Yehee, who glared at Yeonhwa with eyes filled with resentment, as if wanting to kill Sajun again, spoke out.
“You, you bastard, you dare to blabber with your big mouth…!”
“Shut up!”
Bang—. Yongjin slammed the table with his hand, shouting loudly.
Surprised, Yeonhwa opened her eyes, and Yongjin was staring at her with a terrifying gaze.
“Speak up. Will you take Yehee’s side even now?”
A small clenched fist trembled under the table, but Yeonhwa sighed deeply without saying a word.
Only then did Yongjin ask Sajun.
“So, are you saying you want to take over the management? Do you want to be the next leader of Seomun?”
“I don’t like free rides. I’ll compete fair and square and take it with my own strength.”

Sajun’s gaze turned to Yehee, who was trembling like a leaf.
“Kang Yehee, the director, has run Seomun Food into debt, embezzling money, and it’s on the verge of bankruptcy. I will enter the company and turn it into a profitable structure within a year. If successful, I move up one step, and if I fail, I will withdraw cleanly.”
During Yongjin’s deep contemplation, Yeonhwa, who had been silent, finally opened her heavy mouth.
“You called me here just to stab me in the back? As I said, you are still my son.”
Emphasizing him as her son was a subtle coercion to keep the promise made long ago.
Not to covet Seomun.
“Sajun, Seomun belongs to Yehee.”
As she smoothly continued speaking, the smile on her lips was in stark contrast to the icy gaze she directed at Sajun.
No, Yeonhwa had never looked at me with warm eyes, not even once.
Although her hand that always held mine was warm, her gaze was not.

Closing my eyes slowly, I, Sajun, gazed at Yeonhwa with an indifferent look.
“I’m sorry. Now I don’t want to be called your son, Madame.”
When I addressed her as Madame instead of Mom, Yeonhwa’s eyes flickered like a flame.
Yongjin and Yehee were equally surprised.
But Sajun knew that Yeonhwa, at least, understood the act of pretending to die.
“You… What did you just call me?”
“If you wanted to be called Mom, you should have played at least a minimal motherly role.”
Even though I wished for her warmth, Yeonhwa’s role as my mother ended when I left that house.
Outside, she used to hold my hand tightly, intervened when Yehee bothered me, and gave instructions to the employees.
But after leaving that house, Yeonhwa’s role as a mother also came to an end.
She always emphasized that Sajun should think of her as a mother.

Until now, he had accepted it, but not anymore.
Because he had found a woman he loved, a woman who wanted the position of Seomun’s madam.
“I should take over Seomun. That’s why I called you to say this.”
Looking at the two women who couldn’t say anything with pale faces, Sajun spoke to Yongjin.
“I entrust this to you… Father.”
It was a declaration of war.
He wouldn’t play the role of a son for Yeonhwa, wouldn’t take away Seomun for Yehee, and now, he would play the role of a son for Yongjin.
“Now, as an unwelcome guest, I’ll step back. Please enjoy a quiet meal with your family. It might be tough, but Father, please handle the aftermath.”
Yongjin was initially dumbfounded by the term “father” from his son, but he belatedly came to his senses and responded.
“Yeah, got it. Contact me.”

As Sajun tried to get up, Yeonhwa suddenly shouted.
“What on earth!”
Strange, bloodshot eyes, soaked with tears, were glaring at Sajun.
“Why are you doing this now? You’ve been doing well until now.”
In the past, tears like that might have hurt his heart, but not anymore.
Looking at Yeonhwa indifferently, Sajun spoke calmly.
“I have to get married now.”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
