I'm The Lowest-Ranking Daughter Of A Martial Arts Villain (2 Chapters Left to Complete) - Chapter 15
Beneath the Blood Demon Palace.
After passing through a secret entrance and walking down a dark corridor for quite some time, they arrived at a small chamber.
Inside the room stood an artificial waterfall fed by underground springs, and in the center of the channel lay a circular altar, atop which rested a large bronze basin resembling a fountain.
“Have you brought the blood?”
Gong Son Woo reached into his robes and pulled out a small porcelain vial, no bigger than the palm of his hand, with a narrow neck.
“Here.”
Taking the vial, the Blood Demon poured the blood into the Blood Mirror and began chanting an incantation.
Although only the amount contained in that small bottle had been added, the liquid within the Blood Mirror instantly turned a deep crimson.
“I shall now summon the memories of the deceased.”
“…….”
The Blood Demon removed the ornamental claw sheath adorning her fingertip and continued.
“The three most intense memories that surfaced in their mind just before death—if we cannot find any clues within them, then even I won’t be able to help you further.”
“I understand.”
“Then let us begin.”
Having finished speaking, the Blood Demon gently swept her bare hand across the surface of the liquid.
Beneath the layer of blood that peeled away like the thin white film formed on boiled milk, a dark image began to appear.
‘That’s…!’
Na Rin saw it clearly.
A crowd of countless people bustling beneath a signboard that read “Great Qing City Sect.”
“So the deceased was a martial artist from the Qingcheng Sect.”
Na Rin was startled by the Blood Demon’s words.
Identifying the corpse as a Qingcheng Sect martial artist had required Na Rin’s lifetime of experience as a martial cultivator, her sharp intuition, and the knowledge she’d acquired from the Martial Alliance’s search division—all combined.
‘She figured that out so easily?’
Clearly, this Blood Mirror was no ordinary artifact.
While Na Rin was pondering this, the Blood Demon spoke again.
“I see a massive crowd gathered before the Qingcheng Sect’s signboard. It appears they needed help from martial artists… perhaps bandits appeared?”
‘Huh?’
Something felt off.
When the Blood Demon swept her hand once more across the surface, another scene appeared.
“Someone offered food. I sense reluctance and embarrassment before they finally accepted and ate it.”
Finally, she slapped the surface of the liquid with her palm.
Immediately, the crimson fluid within the Blood Mirror bubbled violently, forming bubbles, and the Blood Demon’s body began trembling uncontrollably.
“…So red.”
“…!”
“The entire world seen through their eyes was drenched in blood-red; heaven and earth churned in utter chaos. Amidst it all, a person swung a sword—everything fragmented, scattered, and faded away. Empty… heavy… torn asunder! Ah! Aaah!”
“That’s enough.”
As if suddenly possessed by a deity, the Blood Demon, who had been convulsing violently, abruptly froze.
She collapsed onto the floor, catching her breath like someone who’d run at full speed, and tightly clutched the area near her heart.
“Eongni. Ggaenchanayo?”
When Na Rin leaned in to look, the Blood Demon squeezed her eyes shut tightly, then opened them again and gave a small nod.
“…Judging by the chaotic state of the deceased’s mind, it seems they succumbed to demonic possession.”
“I see. Understood. Good work.”
Na Rin recalled that Gong Son Woo had previously said, “It doesn’t seem like demonic possession,” and felt slightly puzzled, but chose not to voice it—after all, it seemed unlikely the Blood Demon could use the Blood Mirror again any time soon.
And besides…
‘This is not an item that should be used lightly.’
Watching the Blood Demon, drenched in cold sweat, Na Rin clicked her tongue softly.
There was surely a heavy price to pay for pulling forth the memories of the dead.
“Na Rin-ah. Did you learn anything?”
Gong Son Woo spoke.
The Blood Demon was considerably surprised to see Gong Son Woo addressing his question to Na Rin.

She’d assumed there must be a good reason he’d insisted on showing the Blood Mirror to a mere child, but…
‘Was it really just to seek the wisdom of a little girl?’
Just as a surge of anger rose within her and she was about to say something sharp,
“Something’s a bit strange.”
Na Rin spoke up.
“Strange?”
Na Rin rolled her eyes.
‘Should I really say this out loud?’
She didn’t know. But it was better than claiming they’d learned nothing after coming all this way.
“The Qingcheng Sect is a terribly weak sect.”
“What?”
“Really, it is.”
If someone from the Qingcheng Sect had heard her, they might have strangled her on the spot—but coming from Na Rin, who’d once dominated the Central Plains, this was simply unembellished, brutal truth.
“Demon Sect people may think all Nine Sects and One Alliance are roughly equal… but that’s not the case at all! Qingcheng Sect’s martial arts are genuinely weak!”
“So what’s strange about that?”
“Aish! If I were an ordinary villager, why would I go all the way to Qingcheng Sect to ask for help against bandits when Zhongnan or Diancang Sects are so much closer?!”
Both the Blood Demon and Gong Son Woo’s eyes widened simultaneously.
Could it really be that simple?
Unable to hide her confusion, the Blood Demon pressed Na Rin further, almost accusingly.
“I can’t believe it. If Qingcheng is truly so weak, how could it possibly hold a seat among the Nine Sects and One Alliance?”
“Well, that’s a long story.”
Na Rin glanced sideways at Gong Son Woo as if seeking permission.
When Gong Son Woo nodded easily—as if to say, “Why ask such a thing now?”—Na Rin continued.
“It’s because Qingcheng Sect is the ancestral house of the Daoist lineage.”
She swallowed hard and, with her slightly clumsy tongue, enunciated her next words as clearly as she could.
“Qingcheng Mountain is precisely where Zhang Dao Ling, the founder of the Celestial Masters tradition who greatly influenced Daoism, established his teachings and instructed his followers. For any Daoist sect within the Nine Sects and One Alliance to claim orthodoxy, it’s essential that Qingcheng Sect occupies one of those seats—even if it’s a pitiful sect without a single supreme expert.”
“…….”
The Blood Demon was speechless, blinking in astonishment.
Who could have expected such insight from a child?
“Th-then how do you explain what the Blood Mirror showed? Clearly, many people went to Qingcheng Sect requesting help.”
That was a good point.
Na Rin made a thoughtful “Hmm” sound, briefly rolled her eyes upward, then fixed her gaze straight on the Blood Demon again.
“Well…”
“Well?! What do you mean, ‘well’?!”
“Aish! How should I know? Must’ve been ghosts or something.”
“Ghosts?”
Na Rin nodded at the Blood Demon’s incredulous question.
“When people go to Qingcheng Sect or Kunlun Sect, it’s usually for things like that—ghost hunting.”
“Nonsense! Such things don’t exist in this world!”
Seriously? You’re using blood to steal memories from the dead, yet you deny ghosts exist?
Na Rin retorted irritably.
“I don’t know about that. But whatever people saw, it must’ve looked something like that.”
“If it looked ‘something like that’…”
“It might’ve been a Jiangshi.”
“A Jiangshi?!”
It was no wonder the Blood Demon was shocked.
Jiangshi-raising was among the most ominous of all dark arts.
Legend claimed that wherever a single Jiangshi rose, a thousand lives would be lost—it was truly a horrifying calamity.
“If Jiangshi really appeared, this isn’t something we can ignore!”
“Indeed. Thank you for your cooperation. I’ll make sure to inform the Sect Leader that you carried out his orders faithfully.”

“What are you planning to do next?”
“That’s none of your concern.”
“Heavenly King Jiguk!”
Leaving the Blood Demon stomping her feet in frustration, Gong Son Woo departed the Blood Demon Hall with Na Rin.
“If you were just ten years older, I’d appoint you as my aide.”
Gong Son Woo beamed, clearly utterly charmed by Na Rin.
‘Even if I aged ten more years, I’d still only be fourteen.’
But Na Rin didn’t point that out. No need to spoil his good mood.
‘Anyway, I guess I met his expectations.’
With this, her original goal—to owe a favor to the Dharma Protector—seemed successfully achieved.
Just as Na Rin felt a weight lifting from her shoulders, as though the matter were settled,
“But how do you know so much about martial world affairs?”
She flinched.
“You seem to have more than just one mysterious talent. Even if you came from the Central Plains, you’re still just a child. Could it be you have some special connection?”
With each smiling word Gong Son Woo spoke, cold sweat trickled down Na Rin’s spine.
“Ah, well, you see… cough! Cough, cough, cough!”
“Na Rin-ah! Are you all right?”
“Yes, ptooey! Hack! Cough! Ugh! Was the bathwater boiling hot or what? Aaa-CHOOOO!”
Na Rin burst into a fit of coughing.
Oh no. What should she do?
She needed a plausible excuse, but—
‘I just blurted out everything I actually know without thinking!’
Should she claim she’s a direct descendant of a fallen sect?
Or perhaps say she’s from the Beggars’ Sect?
Either might offer temporary cover, but careful scrutiny would quickly reveal the lie.
Seriously, would anyone logically believe a child like her knew the political intricacies of the Nine Sects and One Alliance?!
“Na Rin-ah. Are you okay?”
Gong Son Woo looked at her with genuine concern.
“I was thoughtless. Merely viewing the Blood Mirror must have drained your energy. Come, climb onto my back. Let’s go to the Master of Medicine Hall.”
“Huh? That’s really not necessary…”
“There must still be some restorative elixirs left.”
Restorative elixirs?
Na Rin’s eyes lit up instantly.
“Cough! Cough! I really do need to replenish my strength. Wheeze-hiccup!”
“I knew you’d say that. Let’s hurry!”
Well… duh.
Show me a martial artist who doesn’t want an elixir!
“This brat!”
With her mouth sticking out like a duck’s bill, Na Rin stomped along, her gait resembling that of an angry duck.
“No, little one. I must take your pulse before I can prescribe medicine. How can I just hand out elixirs recklessly? Medicine, after all, can become poison if used improperly… Hey! Don’t be stubborn! If it can’t be done, it just can’t!”
Tch. What a hidebound old fogey.
Though it made sense—he couldn’t give her elixirs without checking her pulse—it felt like a thunderclap to Na Rin, who had to hide her sixty-year-old inner energy.
“Oh, my precious elixirs! Oh, what a waste!”
It was utterly unclear since when those elixirs had become Na Rin’s personal property.
“Your feigned illness is cured, so that should be enough, right?”
To make matters worse, Gong Son Woo was now convinced she’d faked illness solely to avoid the pulse check.
It was unfair! Okay, yes, she *had* pretended to be sick—but that wasn’t *why* she refused the examination!
Na Rin shot Gong Son Woo a glare and muttered,
“Can’t even cure a conscience covered in fur, can you?”
The hidden meaning: “If you had any conscience at all, you’d have found a way to give me at least one elixir!”

Although the decision to withhold the elixir had come from the Master of Medicine Hall, the fact remained that Gong Son Woo had used Na Rin and offered nothing in return.
Gong Son Woo, seemingly aware of this, cleared his throat awkwardly and averted his eyes.
“If you truly desire it, there is a way to obtain an elixir without going through the Medicine Hall.”
“Yes! Yes! Of coursh you’d know one… wait, huh?”
At that moment, Na Rin spotted a familiar face.
“No, I’m really sick! Just look at me—I’m practically a walking corpse! Elder! Elder!”
‘It’s Ma Jung!’
The tall uncle from the trio of guides, known for his kindness.
Overjoyed, Na Rin scampered over and called out gleefully,
“Ahjossi!”
“Huh? Who’s this? Na Rin! You look more radiant than ever!”
Ma Jung, clearly delighted to see her, broke into a broad smile.
“Are you doin’ alright?”
“Of course! I ask you, and you ask me first? Are you attending school these days?”
“It’s been… so-so.”
“Haha! Really? Just so-so?”
After exchanging brief greetings, Na Rin asked Ma Jung,
“But why are you here at the Medicine Hall?”

She said to him: “Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change it!”

Liu Changning transmigrated into a female cannon fodder character in a female-dominant novel.
After reading the first half of the novel’s plot, the first thing she did upon transmigration was to divorce the Pan Jinlian-style male protagonist she had just married.
She indulged herself, pretending to be ugly and poor.
But as time passed, the way that man looked at her became more and more unusual…
Liu Changning was dumbfounded: Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change!

This lifetime, Pei Yuanshao was rejected by the same woman twice!
The first time, she drove him away. Forced by the situation, he endured the waves of anger in his heart, yielding and humbling himself.
That person lay slanted on a rocking chair, her sallow face emotionless: “If you don’t want a divorce, go cook!”
Pei Yuanshao’s face was dark and gloomy: “You!”
The second time, after the crisis in Jinling City was resolved, the new emperor sent someone to pick him up. He turned around, stammering: “I… I have to go. If you keep me…”
That person lay on the kang bed, her back to him, as if she had long anticipated this day, crisp and clear: “Goodbye!”
Pei Yuanshao was so angry his fingers trembled: “You… you!”
The mission of family and country made him restrain himself, averting his eyes and turning to leave this broken household.
Two years later, they met again. Seeing her ethereal face, his body shook like a sieve.
“She was originally a ‘she’!”
At the Qionglin Banquet, the top scholar of the imperial examination, a talented person with exceptional speech and conduct, all the unmarried young gentlemen from aristocratic families looked at her with shy and timid eyes.
The peerless imperial official Pei Yuanshao felt the anger in his heart erupt. He pointed at the woman surrounded by the crowd at the Qionglin Banquet, his thin lips slightly curled: “Little sister, I wants that person to be the wife-master of my Mingde Prince Manor.”

I wander if circulating the energy unprepared might harm her body. We didn’t read about her preparing meridians or opening her own acupoints, etc. Or was she already born with the fully cultivated body? 🤷🏻♀️

I was visualising all special effects during their fight. It might have been spectacular! Pink plum flowers from the 4y.o and demonic purple from the Heavenly Demon. 🔥
Their interaction with each other and his attachment to her is so sweet. I hope he knows she’s his daughter. 🦋💗
How vile is this bloodthirsty demon, plotting to kill a child and preying on the weak.
