It was because of those who repaid kindness with malice.

Like saving Ji Cheon Wu from danger, there were patients brought by Sin So Gyeong.

Sin So Gyeong had brought people who were on the brink of death, like Ji Cheon Wu.

In the hills, Sin So Gyeong encounters those with severe injuries.

The number of patients was not small.

‘It was described in the Cheonma Jijeon that there were five.’

Sin So Gyeong mobilizes the people of the medical ward to save them.

Among them, four did not have life-threatening injuries, but one was in critical condition.

Sin So Gyeong entrusts the critically injured man to her father, Doctor Sin.

The critically injured man is thus able to survive.

Sin So Gyeong is overjoyed when the man survives.

But she would regret that moment for the rest of her life.

Sin So Gyeong was someone who saved others and considered their joy as her own. Such a person becomes the Seolhwa Goddess who does not bestow mercy.

The dagger uncle who peeked at my memories asked me.

[It doesn’t seem like she’s the type to resent someone for trivial matters.]

‘Yes, she’s a very affectionate person. She’d probably blame herself rather than resent others for most things.’

That’s right. Sin So Gyeong would not have been able to forgive herself.

But she probably couldn’t forgive that bastard either.

‘The man Sin So Gyeong saved.’

Because of that man she brought, tonight, all the people in the medical ward, beyond those she considered everything, would die.

‘The ones Sin So Gyeong saved were the Blood Sect’s demon leaders. They kill everyone who was in the medical ward that saved them.’

They were also the demon leaders who constantly bothered Ji Cheon Wu in the original work.

[To think such terrible humans exist…

But it’s plausible since they’re from the Blood Sect. What do you plan to do? Even if you tell them to flee, would they believe your words?]

‘That’s always the problem. Even if I know the future, it doesn’t mean others will believe what I say.’

[Hmm, it’s difficult.]

‘Moreover, he has companions. I’m alone, and I’m still struggling to deal with him.’

But I had no intention of backing down. My body was one, but I had gained quite monstrous allies over the past five years.

‘I must return as much evil as I’ve received.’

Her family and loved ones would die because of the kindness Sin So Gyeong showed to strangers.

It was an episode that even the readers of Cheonma Jijeon were appalled by.

It was also the episode I hated the most. It pushed someone’s life into the gutter to emphasize the protagonist’s tragedy and uniqueness.

The man Doctor Sin saved would soon begin the slaughter.

He was a cruel bastard.

He even went around with Doctor Sin who saved him, showing him the horrible end that resulted.

‘He eventually meets his death at Ji Cheon Wu’s hands.’

But that was after a long time had passed.

‘I must deal with him here.’

In the distant future, he would come to be known as the Cruel Sword. It was because he created many such bloody incidents. Meanwhile, Sin So Gyeong could only watch the tragedy she had created with her own hands.

I got up.

While watching Cheonma Jijeon, I saw how good a person Sin So Gyeong was.

And coming here, I could feel it even more deeply.

Her siblings who didn’t share Sin So Gyeong’s blood genuinely liked her, and it was the same for Sin So Gyeong.

I recalled the passage from Cheonma Jijeon that Sin So Gyeong and Ji Cheon Wu faced with open eyes.

Sin So Gyeong couldn’t believe what her eyes were seeing.

Her father’s head had been cut off. She moved with trembling steps.

Blood, blood was everywhere.

The medical ward was so quiet that not even breathing could be heard.

Sin So Gyeong tried hard to deny it.

What she was seeing now must be a dream.

That she was having a nightmare,

But what Sin So Gyeong faced were corpses. The corpses of the people she loved.

“Ah, Father… Ryeong-ah, where is everyone. Where did you all go, leaving me behind.”

Sin So Gyeong would soon realize.

That this nightmare would not end.

That she would now live in this nightmare forever.

‘Hah, don’t spout nonsense.’

The dagger uncle seemed surprised by my rough words and buzzed.

But I gritted my teeth.

It wouldn’t happen as the author of Cheonma Jijeon had written.

Who are they to make someone live in a nightmare as they please? I roughly wrapped a mask from my bundle.

It’s those who repay kindness with malice who are bad. I didn’t want Sin So Gyeong to become the Seolhwa Goddess.

I knew how cruel she would become towards evil people in the distant future.

Also, how obsessed she would be with revenge to find those who caused this bloody incident today.

Sin So Gyeong, who learned medical arts to save people, would come to wield a sword to kill people. The lives lost to her sword would be countless.

‘Sin So Gyeong was Ji Cheon Wu’s most reliable ally in Cheonma Jijeon after all.’

But… even while harming evil people, the Sin So Gyeong in Cheonma Jijeon was in pain.

Does the current Sin So Gyeong know her future?

‘She doesn’t know.’

And she would never know.

Because I would make sure of it.

[This is the timeline separator]

Doctor Sin sighed.

He had been doing his best to treat the man before him until dawn.

Cold sweat dripped down.

For days, the medical ward had been making their best efforts to heal the man before them.

‘Fortunately, he’s passed the critical point.’

He was changing the bandages of the man before him.

‘I wonder how he got injured like this.’

But the fortunate thing was that the man would be able to survive.

Although their profession was saving people, they couldn’t save everyone.

“Ugh.”

Doctor Sin looked surprised.

The man before him had opened his eyes.

“Where is this?”

“Are you conscious?”

“I asked where this is.”

The man’s question was rough.

Doctor Sin thought he must be startled and opened his mouth.

“This is a medical ward.”

The man looked around.

“Did you save me?”

“Yes, you were collapsed and unconscious.”

“How many days have I been sick?”

“You’ve been ill for a full fortnight. And you’ve gone through several crises.”

The man gritted his teeth.

“Stubborn old man. I’ll kill him someday.”

It was unclear who he was referring to. His words were filled with murderous intent.

At his chilling words, Doctor Sin felt that something was going wrong. Doctor Sin took a step back.

It was the first time he felt fear towards his own patient.

“Do you know who I am?”

“Wh-what?”

“I’m asking if you know who you’ve saved.”

There was no way he could know.

He had simply saved someone on the brink of death.

“Hmm, well, since you seem to have saved me, I’ll kill you last.”

“K-kill?”

Doctor Sin stepped back.

But the man before him moved faster.

He grabbed Doctor Sin by the collar and began to drag him.

“Why did you save me?”

Doctor Sin was bewildered.

He had never thought there needed to be a reason to save someone.

He saved him because he thought it was the right thing to do. That’s why Doctor Sin couldn’t understand the man’s words.

“Isn’t that, isn’t that the right thing to do?”

“What’s right about it?”

“Isn’t it a doctor’s job to treat those who are injured?”

At Doctor Sin’s answer, the man gave a twisted smile.

“Then I suppose you should see what results the life you saved will produce!”

At this moment, Doctor Sin thought he must be having a nightmare.

The man before him was uttering such horrific words.

“Let me tell you what I’m going to do here today.”

The man didn’t look like someone who had been on the brink of death. The aura of the man who had opened his eyes seemed more fierce than anyone Doctor Sin had ever seen.

“Everyone here will die. Because they’ve seen my bare face. That’s a problem, you see.”

Doctor Sin couldn’t understand the man’s words. What did it matter if they had seen his bare face when they didn’t even know who he was?

“I-I won’t tell anyone.”

The man tilted his head.

“How can I believe that?”

Doctor Sin squeezed his eyes shut. As the man said, there was no way to prove it.

“Then can’t you just kill me and spare the people of the medical ward?”

The man shook his head.

“That won’t do.”

Doctor Sin felt something chilling pass through his heart.

He had simply lived according to his father’s teachings.

“A doctor must treat those who are injured.”

He thought it was natural to save people with his skills. Using medical arts for those in need.

He thought that was the natural order of things.

“So isn’t it your fault? If you had just passed by me when I was collapsed, the people of the medical ward could have lived.”

Was it really his fault?

The man began to drag the dazed Doctor Sin. He opened the door and headed towards where his subordinates would be.

But he frowned after a short while.

Because a little brat was in front of him. The man looked at the boy before him with an incredulous expression.

He was still a young boy.

Was he even in his early teens?

His face was so handsome it was almost unpleasant to look at.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away

This is also on my reread list!

This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.

Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.

But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.

Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.

I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.

The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.

As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
